Pregnant wives being worried about the state of their unborn babies quite a stretch!! As long as needles were sterile I can't see any problems coming up.

Not really, the problem is that they don't know what they were injected with.

Although it has been recently been debunked through the latest research, some people still refuse to vaccinate their kids for fear of them developing autism.

Here we have young men being injected with stuff they know nothing about, that potentially can change things in their body with unknown side effects. who knows if it puts something funky in the baby batter.

Mother's in the 50's were injected with Thalidamide to ease morning sickness in clean, sterile enviroments and look at what happened there.

It is a stretch to say there would be a similar outcome but the thing is, we just don't know what the hell thes blokes have had put in their bodies, repeatedly for over 6 months at least

Yep, were talking 1000's of injections across the playing group.

There's no documented studies into the effect of these substances in bulk quantities. Dank believed it would provide increased performance and/or injury recovery. Hird believed it too.

Wow Stumpsy that is a pretty naive comment. Any new drug trial these days requires participants to use contraceptive measures as there is nothing known on the effects on an unborn child.

As these players were allegedly injected with possible 'mystery substances', which may or may not have had any safety data collected on their use, these women have every right to be concerned! Refer to Armytanks thalidomide reference for starters.

Caro's come up with a new phrase .. "Cult Hird".

Caro:
"Unfortunately for all the other parents Watson is terribly conflicted, as he freely admits, and until now a member of Cult Hird. Like other cult members he sniffed conspiracy at every turn, believing the AFL somehow to be at fault from the start and bought into every new wacky piece of evidence put forward by recruited witnesses — most recently the Essendon medical consultant Andrew Garnham."

Reading the transcript of the mother's call to Eddie McGuire on MMM - There's been probably been a lot of people in the public quite passive about the whole situation, but that conversation I would think has smashed Hird/Essendon. Will just be the blind diehards in their corner now (oh and probably some good lawyers lol)

She did more in 10 minutes of radio time to swing the tide than the AFL could do in 6 months!

Raw emotion.

Her distress makes for some uncomfortable listening.

Though she may have unwittingly outed her son during the interview...

I think all most of us want is the media to be unbiased though.
I agree that interview with the players mother was horrible but Crameri and Browne's fathers also called up today and said they were very happy with the information and reassurances the club has given them.
Of course the media wont report that because they are only after the dirt.
There has been some massive failings at the club, just hope the truth comes out and any parties responsible are punished

Ariel Steinberg looks to be the player in question, judging by the "almost 21 reference"-

I believe he is 21 in the coming week.

Yeah, she says he's about to turn 21.

Assuming that's true, it pretty much narrows it down to...

Luke Davis - turns 21 on Dec 23.
Ariel Steinberg - turns 21 on Aug 27 (Rookie)

I was under the impression Crameri and Browne's fathers were quoted after the parents meeting but before the AFL released the charges. If correct i wonder what their opinion is now?
