37. Kane Mitchell
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 10
2014 Disposals: 253 (25 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 63 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 11 (1 goal p.g)

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 10
2014 Disposals: 142 (14 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 37 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 6

Career: 23 Games, 14 Goals

Widely renowned as one of the hardest working Power players, Kane once again had to bide his time with the Magpies, before receiving an upgrade to the senior list and playing his first game of the year against Fremantle, finishing with a respectable 20 touches and 2 goals. His season never really got going from that game, and found himself back in the Magpies line up for the SANFL finals series. Testament to his work ethic, he has been rewarded with an upgrade to the senior list for the 2015 season. You would have to think his skills would need improving, to see him as a permanent member of the Power’s 22 in 2015 and beyond.

34. Jarrad Redden
2014 Games: 0
2014 Disposals: 0
2014 Marks: 0
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 15 Games, 3 Goals

Sadly- Jarrad has been unable to catch a break with injury, and has been unable to manage a game at any level, since Round 15 2013 against the Western Bulldogs. A knee injury sidelined him for the first 2 months of this season, before a posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction sidelined him for the remainder of 2014. Getting the body right will be a huge focus for Jarred and the medical team heading into 2015, as when fit, he has some real talent.

33. Darcy Byrne-Jones
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 19
2014 Disposals: 282 (15 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 65 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

Darcy arrived at the PAFC with pick #52 in the 2013 draft, and had a solid first season of SANFL football, averaging a touch under 15 touches a game, playing primarily off half back and wing. An outstanding PF against South Adelaide with 22 disposals flagged some great potential. Darcy possesses elite speed, however is a development prospect, needing a few pre-seasons under his belt before challenging for senior selection.

31. Mitchell Harvey
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 21
2014 Disposals: 216 (10 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 76 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 24 (1 goal p.g)

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

A product from North Adelaide, Harvey was drafted with Pick 45 in the 2013 draft, and had a solid 2014 season in the SANFL, playing every game. An outstanding mark and accurate kick, Mitch was forced to spend a majority of the 2nd half of the year playing as the Magpies lead ruckman- a position certainly unfamiliar to him after spending a majority of his junior career as a key forward. Project player no doubt, expect Mitch to spend the next season in the SANFL continuing to develop his game.

30. Sam Colquhoun
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 4
2014 Disposals: 103 (25 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 42 (10 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 10 Games, 2 Goals
After a special end to the 2013 season, featuring in both of Port Adelaide’s AFL finals, 2014 was a different story for “The Hoon”. After a blistering start to the season for the Magpies, seeing him average over 25 touches a game, a knee injury against West Adelaide saw him undergo a knee reconstruction and miss the remainder of the 2014 season.

26. Andrew Moore
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 8
2014 Disposals: 206 (26 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 51 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 12 (1 goal p.g)

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 9
2014 Disposals: 118 (13 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 32 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 2

Career: 50 Games, 16 Goals

A first round selection in the 2009 draft, its fair to say Moorey hasn’t come on as well as we would have hoped. Moorey appears a player seemingly too strong for SANFL level, but very unsettled at AFL level. In a similar story to his 2013 season, he played a majority of the games in the back half of the season, often as the sub to add extra grunt to our midfield. A season interrupted by injury, his 4 goal BOG performance in the 2nd SANFL showdown shows he has what it takes, it’s a matter of transferring that to AFL level, and that time must be now.

25. Dom Cassisi
AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 13
2014 Disposals: 179 (13 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 30 (2 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 1

Career: 228 Games, 74 Goals

One of my favourite all time PAFC players. A 228 game champion and premiership player, Dom decided to call it a day, and was sent off in style following a closely fought 3 point win against the Demons @ AO. A much admired leader through the tough times, Dom set the platform for our current leadership group, and his legacy will be long lived.

22. Mason Shaw
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 14
2014 Disposals: 152 (11 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 81 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 26 (2 goals p.g)

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

Flagged as our next key forward prospect following the 2012 draft, season 2014 saw Shaw take significant steps towards his senior debut. A broken wrist on the eve of Round 1, saw him added to the long term injury list, and didn’t appear until round 8. A superb performance in round 10 of the SANFL season saw him nab 6 goals and was looking close to a debut AFL match, before slowing down in the 2nd half of the year. Tyson Edwards has flagged another important pre-season for Mason- additional strength and fitness should see senior opportunities in 2015. An exciting prospect for power fans.

17. Tom Clurey
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 19
2014 Disposals: 297 (15 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 119 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 1

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 1
2014 Disposals: 7
2014 Marks: 2
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 1 Game, 0 Goals

In the absence of Alipate Carlisle, Tom managed a round 1 debut on the back of a strong pre-season, where he performed admirably in our victory over Carlton. Unfortunately, Bob returned for round 2 at Tom’s expense, and he was not seen in power colours for the remainder of the season. With a strong defensive unit- Tom faces an uphill battle to gain a permanent spot in the senior side.

15. Lewis Stevenson
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 13
2014 Disposals: 220 (17 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 66 (5 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 19 Games, 2 Goals

Much like Campbell Heath, Lewis was unable to translate his 2013 form into the 2014 season. Sidelined with a toe injury for much of the first half of the season, Stevenson performed solidly for the Magpies in the 2nd half of the season, including a very good finals series. Unfortunately, a strong back 6 for the Power saw Stevenson delisted at seasons end.

14. Paul Stewart
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 14
2014 Disposals: 293 (21 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 104 (7 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 14 (1 goal p.g)

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 4
2014 Disposals: 47 (12 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 14 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 2

Career: 81 Games, 31 Goals

I really like Paul Stewart, I think he adds great versatility to the side, however his future at the club beyond 2015 remains unclear as to just where he fits in our side. He appeared for just 4 games in 2014 with minimal impact. Whilst he is a significant contributor at SANFL level, its hard to see him making an impact for the Power, next season.

11. John Butcher
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 16
2014 Disposals: 165 (10 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 79 (5 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 32 (2 goals p.g)

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 3
2014 Disposals: 33 (11 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 13 (4 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 2

Career: 23 Games, 33 Goals

Where to for “the future”? 2014 was another season of missed opportunities for John. Most thought he might finally begin to deliver on promise, on the back of his first full pre-season. That was short lived, as he was back in the SANFL after just 3 senior games and 2 goals. The Magpies leading goalkicker will be a hollow milestone. 2015 is no doubt make or break for Butch, with Shaw & Harvey waiting in the wings.

4. Brent Renouf
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 5
2014 Disposals: 42 (8 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 15 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Hitouts: 125 (25 hitouts p.g)
2014 Goals: 2 (0 goals p.g)

AFL stats:
2014 Games: 1
2014 Disposals: 3
2014 Marks: 1
2014 Hitouts: 13
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 68 Games, 13 Goals

Elevated to the clubs senior list in place of Jarrad Redden, Renouf’s sole appearance came in round 8 against Fremantle, used as a battering ram to combat Sandilands, in place of Matthew Lobbe. That was to be all we would see of Renouf in Power colours, as he injured his knee against North Adelaide a fortnight later, and was ruled out for the remainder of the season. Renouf was brought to the club at the beginning of season 2012, with the aim of taking over the number 1 ruck position from Dean Brogan, whilst Redden and Lobbe were still developing. Unfortunately, persistent knee injuries, and the emergence of Lobbe saw Renouf delisted at the end of this season, playing just 16 games. In the same season, Hawthorn’s pick from the Renouf trade, Brad Hill, became a dual premiership player…the harsh nature of the trade world.

3. Campbell Heath
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 9
2014 Disposals: 111 (12 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 51 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 1

Career: 14 Games, 3 Goals

After a promising season in 2013, which saw him play the first 7 games of the season- 2014 saw Heath’s body fail him multiple times. A knee injury (coinciding with an injury to Renouf in the same game) against North Adelaide, saw him undergo LARS surgery and return for the SANFL finals series. Unfortunately for Campbell, another knee injury sustained in the SANFL Grand Final, saw him undergo a 3rd career knee reconstruction, which resulted in his de-listing.

2. Cameron Hitchcock
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 9
2014 Disposals: 127 (14 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 47 (5 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 15 (1 goal p.g)

Career: 35 Games, 31 Goals

2014 finally saw the end of Hitchy’s 5 year stint at the PAFC. Consistently struck down by injury, Hitchcock could never translate lively SANFL form to the big stage, and eventually was overtaken in the senior side by the likes of Monfries, Wingard, Gray x2 & Neade.

Perhaps they can start by selling more corporate facilities.
My understanding is that Port can only fill about 50% of their allocated corporate boxes, thats where the real cream on top is made

some serious incompetence in negotiating a deal on the part of the clubs (and im including the crows) if they dont make massive profits in 2014
