Gold Coast has announced another signing, confirming former Fremantle defender Sam Collins has joined the club for next season.

The Suns used their final mature-age access selection on the key defender who starred for Werribee this year, finishing third in the JJ Liston Medal.

Collins averaged 73 SuperCoach points in his debut season for the Dockers in 2016 but could manage only two games the next year.

He joins former Werribee teammate Josh Corbett and West Adelaide's Chris Burgess as the Suns' three state league prospects for 2019.

My thought is Franco’s was contracted to Adelaide, GC would need to give some sort of compensation to Adelaide. Maybe a deal has been done
