Mead gets 2 years to 2024.

Byrne-Jones gets a 3 year extension to 2025.

I see DBJ is signed to the end of 2026 so effectively a 4 year contract

With Bergman, Bonner, Jones, Burgoyne, Houston and Dumont capable of playing across there I'd have explored options with him. Mind you, of that lot probably only Houston who now plays more midfield, Jones, Burgoyne and Dumont could play the negating role DBJ plays. Bergman and Bonner are more attacking.

HAs he gone backwards? Yes, but his high was AA and BnF in the one year so it's only the very elite who do that more than once, let alone year on year.

He's deputy vice captain, don't see him as a "depth" player.

Isn't Bergman possibly on the move?

Next year, straight swap for JHF.

I thought he was going west.

Is he any relation to Supercoach royalty Miller Bergman from Norf?

Hey? Miles and Miller are brothers.
I didn’t think was the case and they are not even related.

I reckon Kenny McGregor scored a -4 in his final appearance IIRC.

So with Gemma out for all but the rest of the season, what changes does Lauren make?

Levicki and Teakle have struggled in their short careers to date. Teakle perhaps the more disappointing of the two given she at least has some football background prior to this season.
Will they step up now they know they have to take the game on without Houghton there? Or will they simply attract more attention from the defence and offer even less to the Power attacking half?
This weekend's game is against Carlton, at Ikon Park (formerly Princes Park), and while I'm not expecting either Levicki or Teakle to have a break-out game similar to that we saw from Warren at the same venue in 1998, an uptick in their output to date is certainly required.

Our mids in Dowrick, Yorston, Moloney and Surman have shown glimpses to suggest there is a little bit of support for Erin, and down back there is some life with O'Dea cracking in, Ballard being dependable and the 17 year old Borg taking steps in the right direction, however beyond that, you really start to question the depth of the team.

It will be interesting to see if we try anything different this week, knowing there is only a couple more winnable games left in the season, we need to get our plans right before we take on Sydney next weekend. If we aren't on track for that one, its really only Hawthorn in Round 7 that we can look towards with a glimmer of hope.

Hopefully they debut Goodwin. She is quick and uses the ball well. Still very young which might expose her, but senior SANFL experience should help.

A move in the right direction last weekend with our first points coming home after a draw with Carlton on the back of a big second term, kicking all 4 goals. Unfortunately only one behind in the second half confirmed our somewhat dysfunctional forward 50 work we mentioned going into the game.

The move of Ewings into the midfield paid dividends, dominating the clearances and picking up 20 odd touches in the process.
Indy Tahao had her best game off half back and Foley repaid the team with her best game for the club after some undisciplined actions in Round 2.
DeMelo also starting to settle in at AFLW level worthy of a mention with 2 goals.

Looking towards this weekend, Sydney at home. A real opportunity to grab the 4 points against one of the other expansion sides.
Sydney have struggled to date and we would be confident.
McGrath’s injury will pose another selection headache and a further reshuffle of our talls. Halfpenny clearly holds her spot out of the cage and Teakle and Levecki will spend more time in the middle. Will we bring in another tall, or take the opportunity for another small and hopefully show the ability to run out a game better than we have so far; to date we are yet to score a goal in the last quarter of any game.

Also hearing whispers that one of our more experienced players will miss this weekend. Disappointing she won’t be there for Erin’s 50th or to hopefully sing the club song for the first time!

Not endorsed and was posted with some trepidation.
I've waited as long as possible before posting to try not to step on any toes, but it became clear the hole wasn't getting filled.

A week later than you wanted but I recon she'll get the nod this week.

Fair enough too, its a brave area to tread!
