Agree is the best

Worse thing the club did was chose the current song, albeit 'this time' was outdated

I thought Dangerfield might have gone down the LeBron path and film the equivalent of "The Decision".

(also agree that there would be more than 10% of people in SA supporting non SA clubs)

Wow some of you blokes think Crows fans are precious. Last time I checked words to a song didn't win you games of football.

Thanks for your efforts Dangerfield, it has been great having you at the club. Two early draft picks might produce two players as good as him

Patrick Dangerfield has informed the Adelaide Football Club that he wishes to exercise his rights under the AFL’s free agency rules to return home to Victoria.

Crows Chief Executive Andrew Fagan said:

“Whilst disappointing, we understand that Patrick's decision has been made for personal reasons.

“We will now consider our options, however, our Members and supporters should rest assured that in doing so we will make decisions and take action that is in the best interests of our football club.”

The Club will make no further comment at this stage.

The Free Agency period doesn’t officially open until Friday, October 9, while the AFL Trade Period runs from Monday, October 12, until Thursday, October 22 at 2:00pm (AEST).

Geelong not mentioned specifically. Interesting.

You guys realise if there's any chance the Crows might match it then shop him around, Geelong are just gonna offer something the Crows can't match.

He's going to Geelong.

trying to find some stats of "supporters"

according to this, sydney have the most, which is probably expected if you were conducting a random survey of which afl team people support. says nothing about their loyalty or level of support obv.

also says that the crows have roughly 2.5 times the supporter base of the power. this was back in 2011-2012 though, so that has likely significantly increased.

i still reckon if you said to a random south australian "which club do you support" a majority would say the crows, because some random south australian that watches 1 game a year is more likely to say they are a crows fan than any other.

if you are talking about hardcore footy fans, it is likely to be much more of a spread as you guys have mentioned

The topic was initiated by a comment saying why the crows were the most hated team in the comp, by other supporters (apparently) I gave my reasons why I dislike the crows, which included parts of their team song & previous positioning statement. Had nothing to do with winning games, and seeing as your only as good as your last game.... 72 points, thanks for coming....you're welcome!

I've done an official study of all South Australians amongst decent people with footy knowledge.
Crows 0%
Power 0%
The rest 100%

Official I tell ya!

you make it sound like they can magically offer more money than the crows, when none of us know.

Carlton are paying 100% of the salary cap for instance. it is ridiculous, but they are.

so its pretty hard to say for sure what clubs can and cannot match.

especially when geelong are famed for not favouring an individual over the team ethos, so paying more than selwood (who is rumouted to be on 700-800) would fly in the face of that.

The crows will do a trade with the club of his choice. It is not worth jeopardising future trade opportunities for someone who wants to leave

Was always a good day being 16 or 17 catching 450 or the train to have a few bevvies at the footy at Elizabeth Oval behind the goals trying to take some grabs from the goals, they weren't too crash hot back then but they'd surprise a few teams at home.
