Not sure, the AFL does an audit of all clubs membership numbers at seasons end and releases their version of events, as opposed to the clubs.
I look at it this way, all clubs would have rubbish "memberships", pets, 3 game, free junior, country, interstate ( not saying the last two are rubbish ) so I take all the numbers with a grain of salt.
I look at overall, the big clubs, Adelaide, Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn, West Coast are in the high 60,000-70,000's and Port are in the next bracket in the high 50,000-60,000's which seems about right.
