If you want to know why we need an Indigenous Round, just read a few of the comments in this thread

On the off chance, then it certainly wouldn't be Goodes' fault.

Why not

I can't believe what I'm reading.

Goodes did nothing wrong here and I'm not sure how anyone could defend the young girl. She doesn't need to be crucified but she needs to be educated just as many of you need to be obviously.

No one should ever accept that no matter the consequences for the person who did wrong in the first place.

Exactly what has happened.

How has she been crucified?

I cannot believe people on here are getting stuck into goodes!!!! The young girl should be held accountable!!! Don't care about age!!! I was taught at very young age what not to do and how to behave!!! Bs excuse that she got caught up in the emotion of a footy game... Educate her then Ban her!!!

I wonder if the security people actually heard the girl make an offensive comment or whether they just ushered her out of the ground because Adam Goodes said she did.

It seems from footage that if it wasn't for goodes nothing would've been done.

Goodes would do things differently if he had his time again. Got caught up in the emotion of the game
The girl needs education and Goodes needs to be told to not do what he did, that was not a good look

Well no one around her was defending her. Not even the (family?) people she was sitting with. Looked like a case of "I don't want anything to do with this."

what goodes did or what the girl did???? Surely you can't mean goodes!!!
why shouldn't have goodes said something???? so she can continue to do it, so she doesn't learn anything!! Bullsh*t... Emotion of the game is a crap excuse, I've and many on this site have played plenty of sport and I can 100% say I have nor will never do what that girl did, because of the "emotion" of the game. Cop out!!! Nah lets just ignore that sort of behaviour, i'm sure it will go away eventually!! ...

I thought goodes handled it quite well... I reckon he should be the one educating her, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

Or....I'm betting right about now she's thinking "if only I had kept my fat magpie mouth shut".....Goodes wouldn't have done nothing......

I agree. A young girls future could be ruined by a throw away line at the footy, that a grown man could not handle. If it was an adult who knew better, fair enough, but his reaction and antics are way over the top, take it, look who said it, and brush it off.

I agree....opposition players copping crap from feral Magpies is nothing new....Goodes shouldn't have taken it to heart......rather than just "plant" one between the optics and moved on......

Suppose Goodes had said to her "Really? Your going to racially vilify me during Indigenous Round? Have a good hard look at yourself"
versus "She racially villified me- kick her out"
The first response would show that Goodes can't be brought down, and that he's proud of himself and what he represents.
The second response resorts back to victim mentallity.

Regardless, whatever the Collingwood fan said was disgraceful, and should/will be made accountable for her actions- regardless of how Goodes responded.

I think the saddest part about the whole sage is that Goodes deserves the upmost respect as a sportsman and a person- he is a champion, and played a blinder last night.
300+ quality games deserves more respect than what the fan afforded him.

There was an incident in EPL where some fans threw bananas at an (African?) import, an Australian cricketer (Andrew Symonds) was called a monley by an Indian cricketer (and was not held accountable), there are racially motivated murders all over the world- if this is our worst example of racism, we are well ahead of the rest of the world.

Australian society is jumping at shadows, and there's always someone ready to pounce, declaring someone a racist- very evident in this thread.
