I think all interstate teams are on par, it's piss weak as far as I'm concerned, it irks me when our own sooks do it.

Im surprised more haven't felt empathetic to Hardwick and his plea to stop Richmond from jumping on a tram to play a home game under the roof on the concrete a few kms up the road.

Not sure what the fuss is about with his comments. Fair enough a football club want to play their home games at their home ground. Geelong supporters should empathise!

Agree,

In fairness to Richmond they don't get many chances to have 'genuine' home ground advantage. The one chance they get and the game is moved to another stadium.

We're just happy to play anywhere in Geelong! They should be happy/lucky to play anywhere in Melbourne! ;)

Hardwick was talking about the crowds and he is correct. Richmond have a massive following and if you want a big crowd, play it at the MCG.

However this was a GWS "home" game remember, so really playing it at Marvel Makes sense.

I think it's pretty pathetic that they could only draw 18k at a venue 2km away from the MCG along the railway line.

Is Docklands that bad? Surely you'd still rather see your team play footy than not?

Are there any restrictions still?

Does being indoors make a difference?

Have they jacked up the prices to cover the smaller crowd limitations?

I’ve heard from some members that a group had organised a boycott of the game to stick it up the AFL.
Members of MCG clubs hate going there as it is because they are used to their regular seats especially older members.
Personally my home seats at Marvel are some of the best seats I’ve experienced anywhere around the world and love Marvel. It can be sterile at times but if it’s a close game even a smallish crowd can make a lot of noise

Think that was evidenced yesterday, where despite a poor game being played, the atmosphere was excellent in the last quarter due to the close nature of the contest.

With the size of their supporter base, even their away games at the G are virtually home games. I think they get plenty of home ground advantage throughout a season.

Surely that gets dismissed quickly. As you said two blokes going for the footy, Thomas braced for protection throughout the process, should get thrown out in 2 seconds
