Carlton just did not want to trade him, basically.
In the wake of the Ablett manoeuvre, they've since been praised for their stance.

SIX AFL clubs may be forced to find new uniform suppliers after the parent company of a leading apparel supplier was placed under external administration.

World Rugby Specialists owns Queensland-based BLK Sport.

It supplies uniforms to Greater Western Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane Lions, Richmond, Adelaide and St Kilda.

The Saints only signed a new three-year deal with the supplier this month.

The Western Bulldogs used to have a deal with BLK, but the premiers recently switched to Asics.

The NAB AFL Academy uniforms are also supplied by BLK.

An AFL spokesman told AFL.com.au, "Our commercial/licensing departments are in the process of gathering as much information as they can from the receivers to understand the implications for those clubs in the competition that have a relationship with the company for 2017.

"We have six clubs that will be affected in some form."

The company is formally listed as being under 'external administration' on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission database.

"We’re working through the situation with all relevant parties," a Crows spokesman told AFL.com.au.

Manufactured in Thailand or Taiwan or some rubbish like that. Tried to get the Adelaide Plains clubs on board but went with the local apparel makers, Sports Centre and an Adelaide based one, can't remember the name!

Bit rough. 90% of apparel is made in 3rd world countries. Great product suppliers any country you go, just need the right manufactorer.

Having a strong understanding of performance apparel at retail and wholesale at all levels I am amazed that St.Kilda were signed up recently considering these issues. Let's just say things were being voiced earlier this year at retail level.....Much earlier this year.

I know North have showed interest in him. If he's still there at pick 84, we might just grab him before Adelaide at 86 & the Hawks at 90.

Why wouldn't Adelaide bid 86 now then and take the risk out?

Maybe they don't rate him?
