I think at 29 its time to say goodbye.

If the Crows are serious about football.

Get rid of everyone over 29...!
Smile :)

I know not all these blokes were sacked, but obviously they were offered lesser contracts than they would have hoped for.
I agree with the long term gain theory, even though i liked Welsh as a player.

Bernie Vince- new contract.

BTW, John Reid is a joke, not sure how he's still got the job.

Must say never been a Scott Welsh fan, too inconsistent for my liking, but wow did people see the interview with John ":The Hatchett" REID tonight, was he nervous and a bit jumpy or what

last time the crows had a clean out like this it was the beginning of a successful era

our forward line has not functioned for two years now, with No Welsh and Perrie this will provide plenty of scope and opportunities to hopefully un-earth a Tippett, Griffen or Walker up forward

plenty may be critical of the club, my view, the club was never going to win a flag with the 2007 list, so lets move forward with a young group

Calm down, never said it wasn't.

But IMO he's not an AFL player.

Why would you think he'd be good for the Doggies ?

I only see the Crows play once or twice a year, and Welsh kicks a bag nearly every frigging time

Based on no research @ all i'd say his record against the Bulldogs would be better then any other club.

Also possibly "Rocket" Eade may be tougher on potentially errant players then the Cows management.

When (seriously?) was the lasy time a Bulldogs player got in the paper for doing something silly? (Or maybe they are just better at covering it up)

No nothing like that mate, I just don't see Welsh being a part of the Crows next premiership assault so it will hopefully hasten the development of a player who might be a part of a successful era for them.
The reality is half the players on the list won't be part of the next premiership assault, the AFL has designed it through the draft concept for clubs to have a window of opportunity of 3 or 4 years to claim the flag and then 3 or 4 years "reinvigorating" itself. Unfortunately the crows have had their window and now it's shut. Someone else wrote that Welsh is game putting himself in the Pre Season Draft at the age of 29 but clearly someone has told him to do and they'll pick him up for 2 years. I'd say he's smart.

Quit while your ahead there ....

I think all supporters should play a straight bat on behavioural issues you never know when it will be your turn. To imply any team is a bunch of angels is a bit dangerous

Ease up ace, the crows haven't cleaned all of them out, these players have left of their volition. Welsh & Hudson would both have stayed had they have gotten more than a 1 year contract.

How it happened is less important than the simple fact that it has happened. So we get new blood in the club which the consensus seems to feel is a good thing, maybe we needed a push

Crows seem to be in trouble...cant sign 2 of their best 22 from last year yet sign players who wernt in their best 22 have lost Perrie, Welsh and Roo who are their leading goalkickers over the last 3 years and have 2 guys coming back from knee reco's on top of a very ageing list....Craig now officially out of the honeymoon period......crunch time in 2008?

could be some real pain next year Crow fans IMO....

I think the Crows have taken the right line, just as they did when Blight took over as coach. It was time to move on. Hudson will be missed if Biglands doesn't come up OK this season, but they were right to stick to declared policy, especially with a player who thought the team rules shouldn't apply to him late last season. If you make an exception for him there'll be more demanded by him or other players, and eventually you are West Coast - but with less talent.
