Don't upset a team that will and can smash you for it...

I thought all teams did that to get the crowd to come... 8)

Mark Williams thought the GF wouldn't be a sell out? :?

Mark Williams had no idea. The crowd were never going to believe that one.

Always remember - don't wake the sleeping giant.

Just didn't seem smart to stir Geelong about how attacking the crows would be and how they would tackle and work hard to beat them.

They are the best and clearly so.

Watching Geelong tonight on TV they reminded me of Brisbane at their peak. They same Rugby looking grab the ball and go straight through the tackles. Very impressive, and a very different style from several years ago.

The Crows lack of physically strong players in attack showed.

Why do the Adelaide players and coach tell me all week they're going to play attacking football and then start the first quarter with the breeze with 2 players loose in defence and flooding at every opportunity.
FFS its not like they get any advantage by talking crap during the week, Im sure they learnt that from Mark Williams last year.
Either do what you say you're going to do or STFU.

One of the most pathetic performances from team and coach last night. Shocking.

You bloody ripper. I thought that was going to be a tough match but it turned out to be a walk in the football park. I even think we didn't play all that well last night (but then again, I was pissed off my nut last night). Winning by ten goals against the Crows at AAMI is good as it gets for this Cat. I'll be tuning in to the double a sports show this morning for a few laughs. Can't wait.

GO CATS.

Went to AAMI on Thursday and watched the Cats train. Only training I know but boy they looked sharp and the midfielders done a short drill where they split into 4 groups, the ball was put in the middle and 1 player from each group went for the ball, the rule being the head wasn't allowed to be lifted.
Altough we had a record number of possessions I thought we didn't actually play that well? Still to beat the Cows at AAMI by 68 is a big win, I think it's only the 4th time they've had a 60+ loss at home.
Cows supporters blamed the umps from the first bounce, sarcastically "cheered" their 1st qtr point, turned on their players by 1/2 time (especially Basset and Burton) and were silent by 3/4 time!!! Bloody funny!! Mostly teenage girls and middle aged women. Couple of half tanked blokes near us were having fun with the boundary ump, the bloke next to us was a winging wanker, but a couple of others we spoke to were ok.

Full credit to the Geelong players who were very, very good to my daughter before and after the game, signing her guernsey and photo that we had with the cup. Gary Ablett is sensational with his fans, signing, taking photos and talking as well. Bomber seems to have an obsession as to where everybody comes from! He asked us on Thursday and again last night, as well as everyone around us.
Great night all up!

Fair call there Dutchy.

i reckon after some good results to start the year many fans unrealistically shifted their goals from their pre-season expectations.

Last night's result shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, the Crows are clearly at least that far behind the top team (as most teams are), and remain the work in progress they have been for a little while now.

One of the more concerning qualities (or lack thereof) exhibited by many Crows last night, was a complete lack of composure ... To bomb the ball in to Porplyzia 1-on-3 was just crazy, and gave little chance to a player that I hope wins the B
& F.

Time to get rid of Mumbles one thinks. The crows are POO. The cats smashed them all over the ground. I started watching the match and was thinking about damn I wish I was there to hang shite on all those blackbird morons. So I called my brother in law and hung it all on him instead.

I think there is simply not the right type of manpower to play a genuine attacking game. Selection has concentrated on midfielders, and the few bigger players have been injury prone. The Crows have looked tired in the last few weeks, and I do wonder whether there is too much emphasis on sheer cardio-respiratory fitness, and not enough on the strength and endurance needed to play football as distinct from just running or cycling. This may be a factor in the injury toll too.

The emphasis has been on a game style that demands constant running and depends on winning the ball in the midfield, but the strength of the Geelong players put paid to the latter. Tackling was also ineffective and easily shrugged off by strong Geelong players.

Overall the Geelong players did not look as totally stripped of sub-cutaneous fat, but they are obviously still fit, and appeared in reasonably good condition after the match. Overall they had the same "Rugby" look as Brisbane did at their peak.

I do think the Crows need to review the direction they are going. They have done better than initially expected given the manpower they had at the start under Neil Craig and this method, but it does seem to have hit its ceiling.

Thats pretty spot on..they have done better than expected, but now they have not been able to take it to the next level...or even maintain it. From where I sit they will always struggle with the current list, they are just a bit short on quality around the place

really impressed with Varcoes pressure off the ball, his chasing - fantastic

thanks go to Johncock, who just had either no idea or no faith in players up the ground or both!!!!!!!

who was standing brownlow JIMMY - everytime he was loose across the half back flank running up the wing - it was ridiculous...
