Rik E Boy wrote:When the post morterm for Geelong's failed premiership assualt begins in two or three weeks time I hope they bury our medical staff along with the supporter's hopes. Our players have been horribly mismanaged over the last couple of years and while a lot of people will point the finger at Thompson and the players these maggots will get off scott free.
Matthew Egan: Similar injury to James Hird but won't play again. Hird was back after 18 months. Geelong learnt nothing from the Barry Stoneham situation and tried to rush back Egan for the 2007 Grand Final. His treatmement was mismanged from the start and now he's gone. We burnt him.
Paul Chapman, Matthew Stokes and Tom Harley: None of these guys were fit enough to play in the 2008 Grand Final. Plenty of Hawks will point to Trent Croad and Luke Hodge but the Cats fitness staff went unchallenged about how they bent over and allowed three lame ducks to hit the turf for that Grand Final. Then we got bent over.
Brad Ottens: Brad Ottens has been mismanaged twice in two years. This year he went down in Round 2 with a PCL and will only return this week. Who misses 19 weeks with a bloody PCL? Apparently some complications set in after surgery. The complications involve s***t medical and fitness staff.
James Kelly: Did a Hammy and brought back too early where he did a hammy again at Training. Nice one boys.
Steve Johnson: There is a rumour going around that Dog is gone for the season. He pulled out of that Round 14 game after he had been carrying a hip problem for three weeks. Why was he playing in those three games at a time when the Cats were unbeaten. Then they bring him back and play him on one of the hardest surfaces in the league at ANZ Stadium. Sheer genius! NOT We'll go out in straight sets without Johnson as Stokes and Gamble are rubbish and just for a change Varcoe is injured.
Paul Chapman: Does a Hammy for the 900th time so we play him against the Bulldogs TWO WEEKS afterwards! Stupid f****** idea as second spot is wrapped up.
Now some injuries can't be helped and are out of our control but that lot above is NEGLIGENT MISMANAGEMENT. Meanwhile we've got Dr Nick and his clueless cohorts in charge at a time when our premiership window is starting to close.
BYE BYE DR NICK!!

With only Tom harley missing from last years squad, & Josh Hunt back, please do not write us off again.
St.Kilda to be very good, Brisbane to improve further, Collingwood, Adelaide & Bulldogs to be strong again, Bombers,Carlton & Hawks still around to make a nuisance. Very tough year to go yet.
In the end though, Geelong's class over ALL positions will prove decisive.
In my opinion, Barry Hall will straighten up the Bulldogs movement, & therefore i am predicting a Cats & Dogs GF. What a woderful outcome for all the haedline & clich'e writers.

Fair point, however to did have mumford in your side who is a competent ruckman. If ottens or blake goes down, who will be their replacement? hawkins?

Yep, good come back.
I have had a few sherbets at the moment, so i cannot comment on our backup ruckmen. Suffice to say, i think that Bomber would have a few younger ruckmen in the ranks nearly ready. On Hawkins, he did play a couple of cameos in the ruck lasy season and played well. Mind you, even sides who have good rucks will lose the tap at least 40% of the time laeving our onballers, who are the best division in the comp, plenty of oppotunities to either attack or defend. Any coach in the AFL would love to have our rotation depth.
