Talk on the national game

Mal,

PP won 7 showdowns in a row against the crows and the supporters took the opportunity to get stuck in.

I am sure if or when the wheel turns, they will once agin take their opportunity to get stuck in to the crows, but we want this healthy rivary, footy is built on it, and I don't want them thinking, did the crows supporters go easy on us when we were stryggling......

Mate, I remember going to watch Centrals v Port at Alberton prior to the Power days, and when the club announced an away loss to the Crows over the PA, the roar was deafening

The rivary was their prior to Port joining the comp, and I would not have it any other way.......

Do you really think Collingwood supporters are taking it easy on Carlton supporters at present, I think not

SD

I was at alberton and watched the closing stages
of the RI V AC game in the bar section.
When that siren blew there was an enormous cheer.
The cheer was so loud that at 3 qtr time when I was
on the ground the boundary umpire asked me what the big
noise was.
I told him and he shook his head.

I never realised until that day how any RI supporters also
barrack for PA in the SANFL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess there will be extra CA supprters this week as well.

As a nuetral supporter the PP V AC rivalry goes too far at times.

SD

The rivalry is healthy SD with about 90 % of supporters.
I should have been more specific, the concern at Alberton
yesterday was the incessive swearing and inuendos directed
at the AC players[who couldnt hear it from alberton]
Some of those players have got girlfriends and wives.
They were called peda.....s, poof....s, wank....s.

Some AC +PP supporters over the years have been over the top.

Why hasn't the Power considered elevating Logan from the Rookie list, my understanding is that he is a tough inside midfielder and the power desperately needs players who can win the hard ball

I have it on very good authority that Tredders is playing under duress with a chipped bone in his knee.I would think by mid-season he will be in for a "scrape".
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

I went to game yesterday and was wondering why Williams didnt drag Toby Thursans off after 3 bad blunders within 1min. But all in all it was a great win to the boys. GO THE LIONS!!!!

I think there has to be a long term injury first, but as soon as there is no doubt he will be the player elevated from Port's rookie list.

As much as the words "figjam, for a , karma" come to mind, when will clubs/players learn that you can't play injured/unfit players? I had a crack on the Roost about North doing this against the Dogs & we lost. We picked a fit side, & we beat Port & Norwood. I'd rather have a kid who's 100% have a real crack, than a "champ" who can give 60-70% (maybe not even that much.
Ego's come into play here- players think the team will fall apart without them, but a team is just that- a team, it doesn't revolve around 1 player, no matter how good they are.

I agree with you. I wonder if the doggies should have given a couple of players that have been out for a while a run in the 2s to get some form. Dunno about dropping juniors that are performing for players that haven't had a run for a month.
We used to be good :-(
