Would the real Geelong please stand up

Talk on the national game

Watched the game, for me easy win to the Cats but still not very impressive, Carlton made plenty of errors, missed easy goals and leaked soft goals

Mackie, played ok but not up to AFL standard, has a body like a school boy, while McCarthy may be half a chance if he plays as the third forward.

The cats need to find a dominant key forward, they have already drafted Hawkins for next year under the father-son rule, he is a gun the next J Brown

McCarthy has the rest of the year to prove himself and he's already ahead of Gardiner, Lonergan and Kingsley in my books. Mackie makes good trade bait (along with Steve Johnson). In the last four weeks the real Geelong has stood up..if allowed to play their brand of football they can be very destructive but against class opposition we are not genuine contenders. If we beat Port next week we'll make the finals but if Richmond wins this weekend that throws a spanner in the works. Richmond have been better than us for the majority of the season and are our major challenger in the fight for 8th. Wouldn't mind another shot at Melbourne in the 5-8 final but that is light years away.

regards,

im glad that someone agrees with me on Mackie, he isnt an AFL PLAYER.

i agree with McCarthy being ahead of the rest, i hope he plays the rest of the year at full forward and gets the opportunity. his kicking needs work, but he gets more of it then Kent Kingsley. he leads hard and creates a contest.
