At the time of writing it appears that only Matty Spencer has been left out of the Geelong team with some fairly important ins in the form of Jarrod Rooke and Tom Harley. I reckon Tim Callan will struggle to hold his spot and Rooker will come in and take his place.

Everything points to an Adelaide win. The eveness of the Crows, the tactical advantage by the coach that I currently rate as the best of the business and the dreaded home ground advantage...Geelong has a terrible record at Girlee Stadium and that description is via the Rose coloured glass of the one eyed Cats fan.

Yet many people are prepared to give the Cats, who at 5-7 have played some truly awful football this season a chance against the most consistent team in the comp. Here are a few clues as to why.

CAMERON MOONEY: Tore Rutten a new one (and that hasn't happened a lot in Truck's career to date) the last time they met and Bomber will be keen to initiate that match up at some stage during the match. Rutten will probably go to Ottens firstly but by undermining the general of the Crows defence, this could give the Geelong forward line a big boost.

CAMERON LING: I was not Robinson Crusoe calling for Ling's Ginger Scalp to be flying from where all Cat fans would hope the 2006 flag would be after some recent inglorious performances. However, Bomber has realised that Ling is not Chris Judd and has reverted to using Ling in the role that he does best..the tagger. I'd be running Lingy alongside Simon Goodwin who did what he liked against the Saints. With Roo up front for the Cows, Goodwin is the best midfielder Adelaide has and he should have Ling smashing into him all day long.

STEVEN KING: Geelong are a much more formidable foe when King leads the ruck. Yes, he's not the most mobile bloke going around but the Cats win a lot more ball out of the centre when he plays and with Ottens, Abletts, Chapman and Mooney up front we will convert a lot more than we do if Otto is the ruck and we are forlonly trying to kick it to Kant Kicksley.

GAJ: In career best form. One of the running Adelaide backs will have to sacrifice the attacking side of his game or risk Ablett kicking four goals on him. This will rob Adelaide of some drive. They wouldn't dare to not respect Gary Ablett but jeez I hope they do.

PAUL CHAPMAN: In great form also and will make a second Adelaide defender become more accountable.

GAME PLAN: Bomber has stated he will not try to flood Adelaide like Richmond did. If Geelong do that, Adelaide will win by ten goals. Geelong's only option is to play attacking football like we did against the Dockers.

OPPORTUNITY: This game does not represents Geelong's last chance, but an opportunity to lay some 'interstate' demons to rest. The Cats could lose this match and still make the eight, I believe the 'vibe' is positive and that the club is genuinely looking forward to measuring our recent improvement against the best team in the comp.

MATTY SCARLETT: I reckon Roo's not right. If he plays against Scarlo he will get two goals tops. Will that be enough??

VERDICT: ADELAIDE BY 11 POINTS AND A FREE KICK ADVANTAGE OF ABOUT HALF A DOZEN. Geelong may be a good punt, but we are not a very good tip if you are up front in your tipping comp.

regards,

depending on which Geelong decides to turn up this week will decide the winning margin to the crows if the football cats come to play 10 to 18 pts or the 'netball' cats 7 to 10 goals

i agre Crows by 5-6 goals, the Cats are in better form but two wins do not make a season, especially against sides that have more then their fair share of problems......

The Cats fitness, work ethic and structure will get a working over, so if their is any deficiencies in their game it will be exposed

Cats, will come out strong but I expect the crows to pull away in the second half

Agreed about the Crows by about 5 or 6.
(Hopefully things don't get uglier)

The biggest and hardest tip is how many Crows supporters will try to take on my 6yo son in the members?
I'm guessing only 1.

(Man I hope things have improved in that place since I was last a member around 2000).

Geelong will win by 5 points. The cats will kick the winning goal after the final Bell.

Not really, as I'm a big lad and I doubt they'd dare but I've seen some shocking things there over the years I was a Footy Pk Member between 1991 to 2000.

wedgie,

i lived in melb when the crows had to venture out to windy hill, victoria park, optus oval and morabin, believe me these places were not that friendly at times, especially victoria park.....

unfortunately every club has a bad element, we just hope that their are controls in place to keep things under control

Victoria Park  What a fun place that was. The two times I went there the Collingwood supporters were too busy fighting amongst themselves to worry me

thats true every bad club has its bad supporters but wedgies saying this happened in the members area and they are the worst as most of them actually have no idea about anything.

they are so funny, they cheer when they are winning and praise the boys but then as soon as a player does something wrong 40,000 morons are on to him bagging him, then they praise him in the next minute when he does something good. they are the most hypocritical supporters in the league.

I know a few crow supporters who go to the games whilst taping the games. They shout at the players at the game and then go home watch the games and do the same thing. It is Highly amusing to watch because they are the only people who i have seen do this.

BTW its not an issue with all Crows supporters.
Funny enough I always find myself barracking for the Crows (unless they're playing Geelong) in Victoria as you have a very loyal knowledgable bunch that go to the games over there. I just cant handle the twits that go to Footy Pk.
When they say stupid things like "Where did Ben Hart come from? I think it was Glenelg" and you tell them they ask you how you know and when you explain to them you go to SANFL games they think you're a martian.
I've got a few good friends who go to every game and get told by other Crows supporters to "quieten down" as they're trying to enjoy the game! WTF?

Don't get me started on the Power supporters.

Had a very funny incident in the late 90s when I told both a Crows and a Power supporter to STFU as they were both idiots (at a showdown) and spent the rest of the day copping abuse from both Adelaide and Port supporters!! (True Story!)

Well here is my slant on it all !!!

Yes I am nervous about this game - but I do think we can win !!!

The Mooney match up will be interesting but I see probably Stevens going to him and The Big Truck going to Ottens

The stiff man will get the job on the son of god and I think this will be a great match up !!!

Chapman always plays well against the crows so who ever gets the stand along job will have to be on there toes - but maybe some one like magic to play on him then it works both ways !!!

King will go alright id say !!!

I think that every one still lets zoomer get under the radar and I feel that all the attention sent Goodwins way will be to the crows benefit !!!

The Roo v Scarlett match up is an interesting one if it happens - Roo is due for a day out and I think that Scarlett may actually go to Hentschelll !!!

Birdman back as well !!!

Our disfunctional forward line to go alright again !!!
It is what it is !!!

Half time. Game over. Adelaide are a fair side that's for sure. Judging on how teams have gone against my side so far, I'd plump for an Adelaide vs. Collingwood Grand Final.

On the game

The Cats have had a go but Adelaide are easily the fittest and best drilled side in the comp and Craigy needs to be congratulated for the way he trains and prepares the team and his inovated methods and use of technology

My game observations, King, Ling, Ottens, N Ablett, Kelly all very quiet, not sure why Bomber started Stokes on Mcleod, I would of went for a more senior player....

For the Crows, the sides flexibility is outstanding, Mattner across HB is a real positive for the side, Burton, the Cats struggled to find the right match up, Proplyzia is a good news story, the club de-listed him with some clear instuctions and goals to improve, to his credit he has taken it on board, done the work and given himself another opportunity. Doughty continues to improve and again, Stokes on Mcleod gave him a licence to control the game

Today's performance the crows would of beaten 15 other sides in the comp
