Now Im getting worried about the Crows

Talk on the national game

Honestly, I think Stoneham at his peak was almost the best going around for a couple of seasons and prob the cats most important player....

My crack was at Ottens, he is not fit enough to play in the ruck, he needs a big pre-season so if required he can lead the ruck, on the weekend he was spent after 2 minutes in the ruck, if required he needs to run with the likes of White, Cox and Symonds all day

His pre-season training was obviously based on him being a stay at home forward

I've already booked mine, but you have too or you pay triple for flights and accom....

Regardless if the crows make it, I will have an awesome w/end......

But I'm still confident......

How many people wrote of the Eagles when they had their 3 or 4 week slumber, they turned it around in one week, Crows are still very much in the box seat to make the GF

unlike you SD these crows fans are just that "crows fans" they dont care about other teams playing or watching good footy so if the crows dont make it they will be staying home and doing their cash!

I hope the crows make it so I can flog off my GF ticket for $$$ (just like some Port fan in 2004!)

went in '99 and had a ball - even held the cup abotu 2 hours after the game had finished, however its not all its cracked up to be - the atmoshpere during the match is farily flat as there are only about half the stadium filled with fans of either side, the rest are all corporates, had some sitting infront of me and they turned around and stared at me whenever i yelled out....unfortuantely cant see it changing while the $ rules...

Apologies for getting...er, Catty back there Syd. I always arc up when someone has a crack at Otto because for all of his faults, he's actually had a pretty good season. You are only partially right about his pre-season training tho. In Round 20 of last year Otto ripped the grion off the bone in the match against Melbourne and was nowhere near it in Summer as a result. Even if the Cats wanted to prepare him in the manner in which you suggested they couldn't do so. This year, after playing every match of the season, he will now be able to increase training workload rather than having to do it in Cotton Wool.

Otto will never be a Dean Cox no matter how hard he trains, he's just a different type of footballer. Yes, he can do the centre square work but we'd better off with a Mooney type player to run with any mobile ruckman. Not having a genuine ruckman (King looks shot to me) or Centre Half forward hurts us immensely in terms of team balance. Otto attacks the ball hard and makes a contest of it up forward and takes the responsibility of having the shot (even though his kicking needs improvement judging by this season's efforts) and I would say that Otto would be one of our better players this season so of course I am going to defend him. Leave the Otto bashing to the Richmond fans.

Cheers,

Otten's kicking was once his biggest strengths, when he broke in to league ranks he was admired for his kicking technique which got results.......

I'm definitely not Otten's bashing, all I am saying if I took over the coaching Reins I would target Ottens as a key player and a player I want to improve in all areas of his fitness, it is amazing how much your footy improves when you believe your body can run out a full game of footy
