Ablett doing the hokey pokey today, out then in and now out again. Won't play against Port

Shows how invested in the GC he is. He's gone, either to Geelong or into retirement.

I really feel he's tarnished his career a bit with the way he's been the last 12 months. I know he's probably a bit sore, but he has zero interest in that club.

I was just about to come in here a post something very similar. I don't think anyone at the Suns, Ablett especially, would be happy with how the last 2 years has been played out.

He's almost become irrelevant has Gaz.
If I was a Geelong supporter I would be livid my club is chasing a now injury prone 30+ player when they discarded several others for youth.

Depends if you get him cheap. Can still find the ball and kick a few goals.

But your right that theres plenty on the market to be chasing besides him.

Absolutely, he's not really shown a massive amount of commitment to the cause this year. People will point out a purple patch where he had a few stand out games but beyond that he's barely traveled to play away and been a late out many weeks.

Footy Show were reporting last night it would cost Geelong ~$550k per year for Gaz, and they would need to pay the full salary of a player to go to GC to cover the salary cap. Sounds like Geelong will be up for nearly $1m per year to have him.

Mixed feelings on whether this would work for them.

If they make a prelim this year, or better, they might try and keep the window open. Lose to GWS this week and then get bundled out and they might rethink.

Having Gaz in the forward line could be the difference between winning a flag or not. Rotating him through the mids as mid number six is also an attractive option. I don't think he's worth a million a year but if he comes to Geelong he will be admittedly half the player he was when he left, but ten times the player he has been this year.

REB
