I don't see how this is a factor. It's not like any other club would bring 15-20k more supporters to a game here. The onus is on the home team to build a large crowd.
St Kilda win tonight and they displace Port from the top 4. Port would need to win to get back in the 4 so there is plenty of incentive for their fans to go.

They would trade it for a regular thursday night game in a heartbeat.
I personally think I could live without saturday afternoon footy.

You and I can possibly live without AFL on Saturday arvo but it's clear the Vics can't as it's continually one of the favoured spots and one which I know Essendon and Collingwood in particular request every year

Well, I have never decided to not attend a game of football because of how many opposition supporters might be there. Everyone is different I guess.

I am only going as i am injured otherwise i would be playing local footy.
Saturday day games & Sunday twilight games are easily the worst for Port due to local footy and then country members not being able to attend. Obviously we are going to get games in those slots during the season and if we are getting between 30 & 40 thousand, not sure how anyone can be worried about that
