Only to show Port what the cup looks like. :D

At least they would have had a better crack at it than the Swans, maybe last week was the granny.

Would they make a play for Leigh Matthews or is he either past it or past wanting to be a senior coach again?

I was thinking the same thing, I thought AFL teams only had about 3-4 assistant coaches.

Pretty sure former cricketer Simon Katich is an assistant coach with either GC or GWS and I think St Kilda recently signed a female assistant coach too.

It does look over the top, although some are not strictly assistant coaches, eg at Port there's Burgess (Fitness), and Greaves who I think is Strength & Conditioning (or somewhere along those lines).

Please take O'Bree. Doing a brilliant job with our midfield. Get along to the Cat clearance sale. Take him and it's our first clearance win for the year.

Mark Williams was at $21 when I had a dip at him. Seems to be little talk about him being a possibility and I wonder why?

Knows the Adelaide environment ( and I don't mean Port Road, I mean the fish bowl that it is ), would take no prisoners and would happily come in and take total control.

What hasn't he been mentioned and would you Crow fans take him on board?

If he is the best man for the job, I would take him. In this day and age you cant be old fashioned in your thinking ie ' nah stuff him he is a port person' etc (in saying this I couldnt stand him at port  )

The more I think about it, I wouldnt mind Bassett. From the outside view, he appeared to take over Norwood at a time it was in similar circumstance to the AFC on and off the field.

He:
1 - developed a culture that is hard nosed, strong and sustainable
2 - implemented an AFL style game plan which he got his players to carry out time and time again
3 - he is an 'average' bloke but respected by his players and got the best out of them (sando nice guy, terrible coach)
4 - now has an idea of the recources he would have available to him at an AFL club

One thing is for sure it would be fun to watch if Bass got the job. He doesnt take orders from no one and that would be Ricciuto included, everybody must operate his way. Could see him throwing a few tantrums during his stint.
Would be a great appointment for the Crows and would weed out a lot of unsuitables. Not sure the Crows are ready to take a punt on him just yet though

That would be good to watch.
Bass is loved by the players and staff at Essendon but he has had a few tantrums with Bomber over tactical issues and several times he let rip at the players and told them some home truths.

Agreed they are both strong ‘pig’ headed individuals no doubt, however Bass would basically be Roo’s appointment. So he is endorsing what Bass would have sold in the interviews. I think they would both equally weed out the unsuitables so they could be a perfect match. Both have a strong connection to AFC and want them to improve.

Would the Hird decision this morning help / hinder Basset's move.

If he gets an offer to work under Thompson for a year or two then take the reigns would he stay there? Or if Bomber takes up the Gold Coast job would Basset have to choose between the two?

Do Adelaide have any other genuine targets in mind?

Was thinking the same thing Boon. I think the only thing we can be sure on is that bomber will take the Essendon job over GC. The rest is speculation.
Rattens name surprising hasn’t been mentioned for any job. Would he be a serious candidate?
Bolton has been interviewed by AFC from reports also. Haven’t heard any other names apart from Bass.
