Good banter from the Rat! What's funnier is the Crows didn't announce him as captain, it was an AFL computer glitch and the media ran with it. He's not captain this week  Talia most likely will.

Excited that footy is back, keen to see the continued improvement of some of the younger guys.

For me a few things im keen to see:
- who takes the opportunities across half back ( I think i read Douglas possibly moving back there, Doadee next in line? - hopefully not Cheney he is a dud)
- Hope Seedsman and Hampton can keep fit as I think both have plenty to offer
- Where Gibson plays (HB or Mids)

For me, first go at it I would like:

Doedee to replace Lever
Hampton to replace Smith
Milera to replace Cameron

Would you want more pace across half back? I'd think Seedsman more suited back there than Douglas.

Surely Gibson doesn't get a game unless you've got injuries?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

A little too tall for my liking if Talia, Hardigan and Kelly are playing.

Keath too tall and not mobile enough for that intercept.

Reckon we go with doedee and Seedsman down there first up with Cheney as backup intercept.

Wouldn’t mind even seeing McGovern play down there, if fogharty is tracking well

That's because Lever never had a man to worry about, he played to a zone or to the contest as the extra. I can see you using Kelly in that role so you might need a mid/tall who can play mid/small as the third defender.

Otten doesn't go back there?

I actually see him in the side (you will never have a full list - so i think he will play more than not), you know what you will get from him.

Don't mind Gibson playing, offers a solid big bodied mid/wing/tagger. Could even go back if needed.

Gibbs on the radio this morning mentioned himself, Douglas, Mackay and Milera have all trained in Smith's position this offseason.

I think Doedee will get first crack at Levers position pending this performance in the next JLT games. We do have a bit of depth with Keath and Cheney in the back half.

Really keen to watch Fogarty on sunday, reckon he has a huge future when he develops an engine.

McGovern is another one i am keen to see improve again.

Lever was smaller and more mobile than keath. I see keath as an ideal backup for Hartigan or talia - the trend is for smaller forward lines too.

Just noticed the bold - from the little I have heard fogharty is pretty unfit in terms of playing the high half forward or big bodied mid role. So I don’t think he plays until mid season at best, unless someone gets injured.

Yeah he is your man to stop the rain, and make you proud Mary, mind you he should be playing centerfield.
