Kenny would be pissing himself laughing knowing that Koch is all bluff and wouldn’t have the cojones to get rid of him

I doubt they could afford to do that. That's the problem.

Yes they can, they just need their fans to turn up 40 000 at a time as Rooch and George said.

No I'm not quoting anyone by saying 40 000 is the break even crowd figure but if they get 40 000 to each game (2/3 members rock up to each home game) their future is assured.

The future of Port Adelaide is in the hands of their fans.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And they've proven that only success means the fans turn up so no finals...no crowd...and no Port.

Rubbish.
The AFL needs a game every week at AO. They won’t let any side go under

40000 to each game would equate to around 75% attendance rate. Would struggle to find any club getting those figures per membership numbers, Crows maybe.

The days of Port getting near 40,000 each week are long gone.

Is there a little bit of irony in the fact the club is in a poor financial position due to increased spending in the football department attempting to increase income through strong on field performances.

Yet will not get rid of Hinkley due to the payout it would require.

and this is why Port will never be successful in the AFL if the first thought about assuring the coaches future is relating it somehow to the Crows

I get that and I'm genuinely not trying to have a dig at PAFC but it was basically a call to arms from George, in particular. If you want this club to be successful and viable we need you our members and supporters (casual rock ups who aren't members) to attend our home games no matter what.

The reality is compared to the clubs with the bigger market share of supporters in each state and across the country clubs like Port, Freo, Saints, Bulldogs, North and Melb need bums on seats more so than the clubs like Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon Crows and West Coast. Not saying they don't need bums on seats or you don't have a place in the commercial market place but the "smaller" clubs need fans to rock up far more than the "bigger" clubs

Without knowing you LMA I'll make the assumption that you like Boon attend regularly to Port games. You need more like you two to be committed to the cause to ensure off field viability and onfield success.

My Mrs and the kids go for Port - we would love to get out to more games for them, unfortunately the reality is it’s not a high priority and the time slots often clash with higher priorities.

Sunday afternoon is not a bad time slot but with school next day and junior footy in the morning, it makes for a long day - plus Sunday afternoons is one of the only chances for the week we get to catch up on house work & meal prep.

To be honest if you are involved in club sport there isnt really a great timeslot.

Saturday for senior teams
Saturday Night for club presentations
Sunday's for junior football

I think the AFL seriously needs to take a look at having games mid week etc. What have attendances for Thursday Night football been, are they above the average?

Most other sports in the world can make midweek work, thinking European Football Leagues, NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, ODI, T20 Cricket
