But, as president of the club, I do think he needs to be more dignified and a little more sensible about what he says on air.
Just as players represent the club in the media, so does he. He should have known those comments were going to cause a stir - discretion should have been applied.
It's not the first time where his desire to be one of the boys has hurt the club.
Whether I agree with his comments or not, he has to be aware of the environment that we all work in and what topics/comments are going to cause issues for himself and the club.
This is where his multiple roles get confusing and have done for some time.

Eddie wears too many hats....For mine he uses all of these hats as opportunities, in general, to further to cause of the Collingwood FC. As president he is doing the right thing by his club in doing that. Then he goes and ***** it all up by being a smart ar$e..... that's how I see his comments, not as bullying per se.

Fair move by Holden. Wife beaters would never ever drive Commodores.

The world would be a better place if the words Holden and pull out were used more often together.

Anyone watch it last night? Which mark was better, Walker's or Krakeours?

Tough one. I thought krak's was more spectacular but walker got higher, but just marked it on his chest.

I dunno if Im only just noticing it, or they've really amped it up this year, but these shows have been really reactive and sensationalist this year.

For 10 weeks most of the experts question how to beat Hawthorn, then after a loss the inference is that they're in real trouble.

Same thing has happened with every club in the Top 8 this year - Have a loss and the experts drop them like a hot spud, then have a win and sing their praises and chances at glory.

Agreed JK. The lovefest/abandonment cycle is horrible. Even Whately is starting to grind my gears.

sick of people writing of the hawks after one loss, because they have an annoying habit of winning flags when people do that... Jerks!!!

It will be a good day when Hawthorn can't win the flag. Not sure when that day will be but it will be a good one.

Yes I know what you mean. I have had many good days when the crows can't win a flag. Many.

I think the media is the single biggest weapon at Clarko's disposal this year especially. Be like a red rag to a bull to all the older guys like Hodgey

Too many days for me.

I'm not sure where some people (Ashley Browne) are saying that the Hawks will finish 5th. You have North, WCE (A) and Pies, cant see you losing any of those games.

Historical really. Unlesd us and the kangas suddenly improve dramatically then this is unlikely.

Ok they lost to Melb, you know what good on Melbourne but how switched on were the hawks?

Was interesting last night with Hardwick OTC - They didn't shy away from asking him the tough questions (albeit I think they crossed the line when they basically asked if he'd trade Deledio - What do you expect a coach to say??).

Hardwick's not stupid, he clearly knows he's under the pump in a big way, so I thought he tried hard in uncomfortable circumstances.
