When fully fit, yes. We haven't even been close to fully fit this season. Our first three games we had our best team on the park, then the first 2 minutes of Rd 4. Then up until Rd 21 we only just got back to our best unit on field.

So your full side can't beat the Gold Coast and for the ENTIRE season you 2 games out of the 8 with 11 wins and 10 Losses.

Are you saying they have done well this year?

I thought I spelt it out above, but obviously not. In context, we've done well OVERALL this year considering the injuries we've had. Last week wasn't good (no sh*t sherlock) but overall we've had a decent year considering injuries.

That's cool... just wanted confirmation that you believe you have done well this year. I disagree, but that's my opinion - to go from premiership favourites to missing the finals is poor in my opinion - regardless of injuries - you should have enough depth to at least get into the finals. Will be interesting what the opinion of the board will be.

As soon as you said "premiership favourites" I realised you mean that you'd be sucked in by the media expectation. Realistically we were only ever going to push for top 4 if things went ideally for us. They didn't.

just referring back to my original post in the Carlton thread;

And in response

Need Watson to step up. Hasn't yet
Need to win games at Etihad. Still struggling to do this against anyone decent

Need Warnock to start imposing himself more around the ground. No.

Need everyone to stay fit again. Problem was, Judd, Murphy, Simpson all played every game. You'd expect one or two of those guys to miss games in 2012 meaning we have to have the depth to cover them. Depth we don't necessarily have. I'd hope that they rest Judd, Murphy, Simpson and a few others when we play GWS - depending on where it falls in the season of course. Murphy injured, Simpson injured, Judd suspended.

Need Kruezer to cement a place forward and stay fit. Had to play ruck (looks comfortable enough there, but hasn't been able to play all 23 rounds and had to pinch hit up forward when Waite didn't play.
Need Waite to stay fit. No.

Need Walker to have another season like this one. No, injured and the ball not getting down there as regularly as we'd like it to.

Need Jeffery and Eddie to maintain their form. No injuries, but the ball just hasn't got down there this year like it did last season.

Need Yarran to have a stellar season off half back. No, injuries and form.

Chances of this all happening in the one season, AND have Geelong, Collingwood, WCE and Hawks drop away slightly..........not probable. They're vying for the top 4 spots still.

Geelong were able to rest and rotate guys througout the year. We weren't. They had depth in every position, we didn't. At our best we can push them, but we have to get there and IMO the trip (getting there) is the main propblem for us.

SACKED Port Adelaide coach Matthew Primus could resurface as an assistant at expansion franchise Gold Coast as an assistant to Guy McKenna.

As the AFL’s new outfit head toward a third season after losing midfield coach Shane O’Bree, it is understood that Primus will be interviewed as a possible senior assistant to McKenna.

Primus is tipped to meet with McKenna and Suns football staff within days.

It was mentioned on AFL 360 last night that Rodney Eade has withdrawn from the Power job, wishing to see out his existing contract with Collingwood.

Brett Ratten now heads the favouritism as the next power coach.
“Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green I wear suits and I'm awesome. I'm your bro—I'm Broda!”

Ratten reported to be at the Gold Coast today, they are after an assistant so would be a good fit.
No experienced coach left unless they took Ayres or Knights

Port are like the little ranga kid who gets picked last when they are selecting teams.
When you have experienced guys like Eade and Ratten turn you down to be assistants you know your club is in trouble

At some house in the North-Western suburbs of Adelaide a phone rings:

"Matty, Keith here, Long time no speak. Look we're having a bit of hard time getting someone to fill your sma, I mean, large shoes.... Do you want your job back??"

Like Jim05 I reckon Matty Knights would be a good fit for Port.

If not give it to Cornesy!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Only mentioned those 2 because they are about the only experienced ones left.
Pretty sure the Magpies ran him out of the state after his disastrous stint as coach
