Lachie Whitfield anyone?
GWS got sanctioned, will Port?

Are you serious?

Whitfield hid from ASADA, who the AFL are aligned with for testing purposes. I'm pretty sure SAPOL will handle the criminal matter and it has **** all to do with the AFL. Coupled with the fact all clubs must lodge the fine they are imposing with the AFL and AFLPA it's pretty much got nothing to do with the AFL from here on.

And Port hid Impey from the Police after an accident.
Which is worse?

C'mon lets get real with this.

Surely a hit and run isn't 1/5th as bad?

Was allowed some personal leave to head home to see family in WA while going through rehab from surgery. It was 3am, outside a known hot spot.

Anything happening to Gus?
Wouldn't of thought hosting parties and getting on the piss whilst recovering from shoulder surgery is ideal

no one has "seen" it cause they hid him from the test and they did not get a chance to test him.
there would be no other explanation to hide him from the police. take off your Port hat for one second and think about this from everyone elses point of view.

Ha, reminds me of the missus "How come everything is always my fault?"

Me "Well I'm hardly going to blame myself for being annoyed"

In reality it actually has nothing to do with the PAFC. If I did it my employer would have no involvement. So what does it have to do with the AFL?

If you got your employer involved after the accident and they influenced your decision making on whether to go to the police or not, they would be involved.

You'd better batten down the hatches my friend, I'm going to go grab a cuppa then sit back and watch the air raid.

The club has committed a crime by assisting him in not going to the police straight away after an accident.
I'm sure big brother(AFL) can impose any sanction they want if they deem it necessary.

The AFL ruling on criminal matters now?

They don't go very will with the Match Review Panel, hate to see how they go with a manslaughter case.

You don't think the AFL can ask Port for a please explain on their handling of the events?
I'm sure they will.

Of course they have....... and will continue to do so until Impey fronts court.

You really think Port have told the AFL 'everything' at this stage?

Then why not take him straight to the police, or go straight to the police, like he should have?

If this was a regular Joe Blow, we'd all be condemning the bloke for doing a runner and saying what a disgraceful human he is, just as many are with Impey - he just has advisors who can help guide him through the situation and they just made some bad decisions.
There is no difference between community expectations for a footballer, despite the extra level of support they get, and you and I.
Do. The. Right. Thing.
Don't hide behind the protection that being an AFL footballer can provide.

Isn't it punishment enough for Impey that he's playing for Port in the first place???

I think in legal parlance that's known as a 'prior conviction'.

It depends DW...
If he was drunk when Port found him, then I think they have done all they can to hide that fact.
If he was sober, then they have made some ridiculous decisions in advising him to front up to the police station so late after the event.
