Later curfew?

Do find it interesting that the club told the media ahead of the cutoff that he would be dropped. That would not sit well.

Not without precedence, Hinkley has advised of selection changes in his Thursday presser several times this year.

SPP rested I assume and not dropped?
I understand you can’t play Jonas, Clurey, Howard and Hombsch all down back but I’d be keeping Hombsch in the side somehow.

Kenny certainly puts a lot of faith in Clurey, Hombsch will be out of there at the end of year you would think.

I'd imagine I watch Port closer than your good self, maybe not, but Clurey is well ahead of Hombsch right now. Well ahead.

Our best backline this year has been Howard, Jonas and Clurey as the talls.

I have been (and still am) a big Hombsch fan, but reckon you're spot on mate. Clurey always looked a player to me, and he's been pretty good this year and I expect, will only keep getting better.

Dropped, been ordinary the last two weeks.

Hombsch was nearly Adelaide's best last week and he's looking slow compared to our other 3 talls, Clurey well ahead of him in the big bodied defender role.

Hombsch should never have stood Jenkins in the first place.
Clurey should have gone to Jenkins and Jonas to Tex IMO or vice versa.
Leaving Hombsch as the 3rd defender to help both when needed.

We’ll have Hombsch and SPP at Carlton and you can have Lobbe and O’Shea back.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Interested in Port fans opinion on whats going on with Sam Powell-Pepper, earlier in the year I was thinking how he'd be one of the first footballers I'd select for my side if possible.

Not a port fan but I’d have SPP in my team every day of the week.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Same!

He just looks cooked physically and mentally.
He may want out and the pressures got to him.
Even at 70% he's a great player.

His for the last 2 weeks have been horrible. Something like 11 and 12 touches the last 2 weeks.

Went head to head with Crouch in the last 1/4 of the showdown and got absolutely towled! Crouch had something like 13 last quarter kicks.

I rate SPP but he is a kid and looks burnt out for mine, with the game style he plays a week off will do him no harm.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Not for me, think Port will be better off without him. Most sides can afford one “bull” with not great skills, Wines is that guy at Port for now.

I know SPP is only a second year player & he may well prove me wrong but I see him getting to the level of say an Armitage type. Think he’s been over hyped a little early in his career.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

He's a 50:50 ball winner. Skills are OK. Every side needs a him.
Probably suffering 2nd year blues.

He needs 1-2 Weeks for rest/recovery. He'll be back for finals.
