Everyone is entitled to thier opinion and thats what it is an opinion. No one is right and no one is wrong.

Unless you're Adam Goodes, who isn't allowed an opinion and is obviously wrong.

It would be interesting to see a poll on whether thought the booing was motivated by

-racism
-off field personality
-on field personality
-both
-other

It'd be pointless as most of the racism is either denied or sub conscious.
They'd just use the other answers as a cop out.

Yeah good point

I reckon the author lost their credibility when she claimed it was normal to boo Milne because he was 'accused' of a crime yet booing Goodes is a no no because his committed no crime.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty

The other part that got me was her defending the 'war cry' As others have mentioned this war cry should never be compared to the haka and secondly imho it wasn't the dance itself it was the nature of it to individuals in a crowd, you lose credibility when you have the racism issues he had with the girl, he then told the world how affected he was by the booing and how he disapproved it only to go and direct a 'come at me' dance at a group of supporters.

The general public who aren't racist should stop booing, Goodes should concentrate on staying out the media until all this cools down and everyone should go back to enjoying aussie rules, it really is a fiasco

Well, Cy Walsh hasn't been convicted yet either

Clearly not the same!!! But either way people should let the justic system run its course as in the Milne case he was proven innocent despite the fact his one of the most annoying footballers in the history of the game

Obviously not the same but just pointing out there's a long history of people reacting negatively towards an alleged perpetrator before going through the judicial system. But we digress.

He wasn't proven innocent. He pleaded guilty to indecent assault.

My mistake but the point still stands about being innocent until proven guilty

Anyway I think most agree the Goodes saga no matter who is in the right or wrong has gone on far to long and it's time to stop

is it just white people though as the cartoon assumes? has someone done a census on the Booers? does it change the racist accusations if non anglo-saxon people are joining in too?

What do people do think of Goodes indefinite leave

Obviously if he feels he can't play than he is more than in his rights to not play

The unfortunate otherwise to this though is I now think this issue is going to drag on even longer and the media will now focus on his return and the crowd reactions when that happens

Personally I would think this week would have been a good oppurtunity for him to play and for the country to see the boos stop and in fact he may have even been applauded (the last thing I think Adelaide fans will be thinking of doing is booing Goodes)

But obviously if his not mentally prepared then he can't be made to play which is fair enough

It's brilliant and I shared it on my 'book today.

Surprised, appalled and disgusted by the seething masses reaction to this. Honestly thought we were more educated as a society.

I guess not. :(
