Is it the Interchange, players are fresher ,run harder
and generally the speed of the game has increased ?
Playing at maximunm tilt for say 100 minutes is easier
than the old days playing 120 minutes ?
Seems to be less upper body injuries as the congestion
is not as apparent as yesteryear when there was more
tackling.
Interesting to note in todays press that WB are investigating
the frequency of knee injuries in thier club.
If they ring me up i can offer my views but i need permission
from Tassie Punky and yourself SD !

Do agree with this and no matter how much weights and fitness work you do, you cant make ligaments and tendons get any bigger or stronger to suit.

i think that there needs to be a survey of every player that has ever played on the telstra dome and ask them there opinion about the ground.

There are some retired players out there who think the DOME ended there career early

The Sydney Morning Herald, tuesday 10/6/2003

The Brisbane Lions have lodged a complaint with the afl about the playing surface of Telstra Dome.
3 Lions players sustained ankle injuries in last saturdays nights 5 point loss to St.Kilda, and another voiced concerns about the footing.
...........
We are not just doing this for ourselves its in the best interests of every footballer who plays there that the surface is not going to be directly responsible for injury problems Bowers said [Lions Chief executive Michael Bowers.]
...........
Lions captain Michael Voss, who wil be sidelined for the next 2-3 weeks with a knee injury, called the Telstra Dome "By far the worst in the afl." on sunday.

i think this supports MALs ARGUMENT to a degree

Read that Roger James ended his career on pain killers.
The article in the Advertiser July 27 under the heading of
'Pain free just one day a week'
James states he has no cartilage in his right knee, resulting
in bone rubbing bone.
This will make magnificent Mal happy, my mail is that James first
got the injury playing on Mals Telstra Dome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advertiser friday august 4th 2006.

THE PAIN GAME

Mark Stevens was washed up at 29........
Stevens, a premiership player with Adelaide in 1998 after switching from the Kangaroos paid the price.
Now living in Perth, his career not only ended 3 years early-he should have been able to play until he was at least 32- but his body is so wrecked and his knees so badly damaged from the amount of times he was pounded into the ground by heavier opponents that he struggles to run.
" I got drilled a few times and I'm feeling it now but it goes with the territory," Stevens said, adding the hard Telstra Dome surface was the worst ground to find yourself at the bottom of a pack.

I blame Telstra Doom for Adelaide losing last week, I mean it cops the blame for everything else in footy......

Residual soreness from the game against St Kilda on June 16....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Maguires brogan leg was an accident and didnt appear to have
anything to do with the Doom surface, although the players
he tripped over 'appeared' to slip.

Brisbane Lions player Micheal Voss has blamed the playing surface of this magnificent piece of modern Architecture  to rethink his playing future due to recent knee soreness. If this not enough evidence of a sub-stantard surface well my left foot is on my right leg.

that Friggin carpark under the dome HAS GOT TO GO im waiting for the day when a team refuses to play a game at the dome

Well well well the Players Association are going to have
a meeting with the AFL about the TELSTRA DOOM surface
The meeting is expected to take place later this month.
As HEATER31 mentioned Michael Voss has made a complaint
saying his playing future is in jepardy because of a knee problem.
Voss has been complaining for years about the Doom.

The prosecution led By MAL and his assistants MT79 +HEATER 31
are looking forward to the defense counsel led by SYDNEY DOG
and his accomplices REB + PUNK ROOSTER+TASSIE as the case
is now re opened.

And why did they name this ground Telstra ?
Because the ground is a 'phony'
