Funny thing is the new model is suspposed to becoming out in September however it is August now

Ah well a lot of bitter Port supporter still smarting over 2001-03, funny how they choked without injuries, not they we have choked yet with a double chance and home finals in the bag.....

*AHEM*

Lade,Primus,Francou and James (fairly important members of those teams) missed many finals in all those seasons.

All but Lade missed 2001 & 2002 I thought (not that I am or ever will be an expert on port injuries), admit Francou and Primus in 2003 & 04.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How bad was Bock falling over in the last quarter to let Dew kick an easy goal...was probably the most pathetic play I saw for the day. At the press conference Neil Craig blamed it on not being match fit - WTF is he doing in the side then...is this arrogance from the coach to play unfit players against a so called weaker side like port?

LMAO,good work by Bocky getting run down by Dew,even with a 5 metre head start he got done by 2,and that was only over a 30 metre run! Methinks Bock is,how do I say this, over rated!

LOL .. Me thinks someone needs to rate him for that to be the case mate

I don't think Craigy's had many options to choose from recently in terms of selection, and I don't think fitness was the difference on the weekend ... Port had too much class around the ground in the clinches, and far too much leg speed and that pretty much proved the difference IMHO.

Yep, normally (apart from 2004) you blokes hear the siren at the start of a prelim final and then start choking.....

Will the Crows make the GF, you bet your bootstrap they will. Not too many weeks ago we lauded Craig and his group. a bad 5 weeks and we write them off. Not me.

The depth will come up, this week Hudson in, Biglands forward (will take two defenders) leaving Welsh to have a day out. Next week Kenny is back. Maric (who can play a bit) Douglas better for the run last week, Bock showed he will stand up and has the heart. Bode will thrive on the underdog situation, Edwards will not stop unless someone hits him with an axe. Rutten will not be happy with himself after last week and Stiffy will be told to man up and run off coz he has the agility and speed.

We will make the GF and then on the day it belongs to anyone.

Booney,

On Perace v Van Berlo, Pearce had sim more touches but Van Berlo kicked two goals, given Pearce recent form I would say they broke even

In regards to crows going out in staright sets, I will take anyone up on that bet

Crows have depth, Knights, time this kid showed the footy world what he can do, Kenny, Hudson, Torney, Massie, Skippy and Stevens all have enough AFL experience, Maric, Douglas and even someone like Hinge may get there opportunity to launch their career and make a name for themself.....

Roo, Macca and Birdman will be the bonuses if or when they get back

1980 and Boonie - I recall Port losing Wilson, Paxman and James late in 2002 and Wakelin, Primus in 2003. What we can't measure is players that played with injury. Port also copped finals in Brisbane in both years and as well all know Brisbane were unbeatable during that period.
You seem a bit Port sensitive 1980 - lighten up a bit and I am sure you will enjoy your footy more.

Au Contraire Gravel, I have respect for the Port Power footy club, will admit I don't like them but I respect them especially their ability to win when realistically from a skill point of view they shouldn't (not saying their players aren't skillful but not as skillful as some of their opposition). Mate on page 2 of this thread I complimented Port on their work ethic.

What I am sensitive about is a percentage of their "supporters" who IMHO just don't seem reasonable or rational but I will readily admit all clubs have those but Port, like Collingwood, seem to have a greater percentage of those type of supporters.....

Trust me, I've been to the dark side (the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad house) and it ain't pretty.....
