Some people say they can't win it. Of course they ******* can. Not a Roos man but perhaps the knock is inside ball and clearances, and can they cope with a tall attack. Roos to thread.

Top 4 was 16 wins last year, so they need at least 7, maybe 6, to make top 4.

They have

Sydney A (Loss)
Rich H (Win)
Geelong Etihad (50/50)
Hawthorn H (Loss)
Adelaide A (Loss)
West Coast A (Loss)
Port H (Win)
Collingwood A (Win)
St Kilda H (Win)
Hawthorn A (Loss)
Sydney H (50/50)
GWS H (Win)

5 wins and two 50/50s

you could argue that the games against gws and adelaide are 50/50 too

The big games are against hawthorn and sydney. If they can win them then they will likely go from being 4th or 5th to being top

Gonna be really tough from here, if they hold onto top they certainly deserve it

Heres an opinion Ive pulled out of my arse too.

North Melbourne will need to win more games than 14 other teams to make sure of a top 4 spot.

If they stay undefeated, i think, but could be wrong, that they might retain top spot.

If they finish in the 4, i reckon they might just scrape into the finals.

Will definitely loss to Richmond in Perth, but should beat West Sydney Tigers at Old Trafford.

Lets hope the clay courts dont have too much affect on them, because they prefer grass.

So Carey asks how they hell are they $1.90 to make the top 4 and I attempt to answer the question and get cut down for it?

Why don't you have a go at explaining it then?

Ridiculous, got the swans at $1.40 and the kangaroos at $2.95. How is the undefeated side paying that much?????? This was of Sportsbet

Shit's about to get real for the Roo's now, they could potentially lose their next 6, they'll start favourites once until round 17.

They could have potentially lost their first 9, but didn't.

Two home wins against 5th and 8th and 6 wins against 6 of the bottom 7 sides.

I hope they do build on what they've built over the past couple of years, they play with true shinboner spirit and aren't reliant on individuals.

so is anyone actually going to come up with their own opinion as to why they should be shorter than $1.90 to make the top 4?

I have no doubt our best is good enough to beat anyone. We have been nowhere near our best in any game so far this year though, we haven't even really played a solid 4 qtr game. Most games we've had upwards of 7-8 blokes who've barely been sighted or had an influence.
What has most impressed me is our backline. They work well together, finally having a fit Tarrant with a preseason under his belt has thus far rewarded the patience & belief the club has shown in him.
10 more weeks without Higgins, 8 more for Jacobs, Garner still on the sidelines & I doubt Wells will come up for Friday night makes it tough. Those 4 have to be on the park if we're going to go anywhere in September.
Will we make top 4? In my opinion, yes. We've got the experience & the feel around the club is this year is their best chance in a while. They've set themselves up nicely with their start. Years gone by we would've been 6-3 or even 5-4. I don't think they've gone out too hard early.
Whilst I won't be picking us Friday night, if we do happen to get up, that $1.90 on offer will be long gone.

good post.

I have a feeling they will also jag one of the ones against Sydney or Hawthorn and finish top 4. Not sure they will finish top 2 though

Reckon you are real show tonight Spargo.

We were dead set average last week and lost by 14 points. Your side is a lot more settled and experienced than ours currently.

What is the selection criteria to be in the a Hall of Fame? Does the club have to nominate the person?

eg Anthony Stevens has just been named as the 8th legend at North Melbourne, but isnt in the Hall of Fame.

He played 292 games, was Club captain, All Australian, played in 2 Premierships, won 2 B&F's & 4 times r/up & is the heart & soul of the Kangas.

The 7 other Legends at the Roos are:

Wayne Schimmelbusch, John Dugdale, Keith Greig, David Dench, Allen Aylett, Les Foote & Lawrie Dwyer.

Its very Interesting that Norths all time greatest player Wayne Carey isnt a Legend at the Roos

They're just jealous because neither of their teams have enough history to award legend status to anybody.
