Kane Cornes had a decent stat

Sam Mitchell has been held to 20 or less disposals 57 times. Which sounds quite high for such a champ.

And the Hawks only win 35% of the time when he is held.

Wonder how many of those are in the last half of his career when the Hawks have been so good

I'm not actually sure how that ranks with other players of his calibre. Reckon someone like swan and Ablett would have a higher percentage.

Or since Cameron Ling retired. Mitchell was his bitch and that was a key reason behind our eleven game winning streak against the Sqwaks.

Thought I would see how it is since 2012, so in their gf years

2016 - 1/14 this year for a loss
2015 - 1/24 for a loss
2014 - 1/16 (injury) for a win

2013 - 1/24 for a win (gf)
2012 - 3/23 for 2 wins and a loss

therefore 7 of the last 101 games has he had less than 20 touches, for 4 wins and 3 losses

That is quite outstanding, and Kane's stat is pretty misleading as we cant compare the hawthorn at the start of mitchell's career to the one now.

So in other words Kane is talking rubbish :D

**** knows how we won 08 then, im sure we would lose 11 in a row again if it meant winning another flag. I hope you can turn your form around enough to be a part of our history making day on October 1
The better stat would be how many times they have tried to tag and not succeeded in keeping him to 20, maybe we run at 100% win ratio when that happens

LMAO knew you'd come running. Pretty sure one of those 11 was a Qualifying Final. And you couldn't beat the team we beat by six goals in the Grand Final in your Prelim that year. But I get how Hawfies' mind work. If Hawthorn lost it didn't happen.

Pavlich has kicked 11% of all the goals the Fremantle Football Club has ever kicked. Super Pav. =D>

Brent Harvey has played 250 games since Carlton last beat Hawthorn.

Eddie Betts has 72 goals this year, and it got me thinking how many other small forwards have achieved that feat.

I have gone back and worked out the goal tallies of the small/mid forwards.

He is the first since Brad Johnson in 2006 (74 goals) to do it

Here is a list i have compiled for the AFL era

1. Brad Johnson 74, 2006
2. Russell Robertson 75, 2005
3. Jeff Farmer, 76, 2000
4. Jason Heatley 1997, 73 (More an undersized full forward If i remember correctly but ill include him)
5. Danny Del Re 70, 1992 (No idea what role he played either)
6. Peter Daicos 1991, 75
7. Peter Daicos, 1990, 97
8. Ross Glendinning, 1988, 73 (Once again cant remember what role he played but he was 188cm so i included him)

Is Eddie Betts the best small forward to play AFL?

Where does he rank compared to Milne or Brad Johnson you think?

I did a list of these a year or so ago.... thought Bruest was in there. LeCras certainly was. Glendinning by my reckoning was a key position player, more than a small forward.

Yeah I included everyone sub 190cm but suspected a couple of them were smaller full forwards

Del Re - while not tall, did play as a key forward (full forward) for Footscray/West Dogs. If you have him in, you may as well chuck in Allen Jakovich.... again not tall, but had a "bulky" frame who played full forward essentially for the Dees.
