You can't tell me every single player of trade value at the Swans would not consider a switch even it was to a Melbourne club (ie, Reid)
One of those third party clubs may just have the missing link in the trade puzzle.
I'd love to go back in time and see how reasonable Swans fans were when Rocca and Grant walked out.

I would be sure the SMH didn't print their faces on a dart board...

Is the Advertiser a Crows fan?

In a word. Yes.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

   If the Addy doesn't follow the crows then who does it follow - or are you saying it is unbias?

The Crows fans are blaming Sydney for their tough stance - it is not Sydneys fault that KT doesn't want to play at the crows and wishes to play at Sydney.

Most Crows fans I know disassociate themselves from most of what the Tiser prints

We know it is OTT tabloid journalism and ignore it. Unanimously the fans I know cringed at the dart board.

This would force Sydney to trade for Tippett.

At the moment, Sydney dont have to offer anything

I think the Crows gave up the one ace they had up their sleeve and that was to say to the Swans and Kurt if a trade is not done we will just re-draft him. Regardless if they were planning to do it or not. Make it look like they were prepared too and see if Sydney or for that matter Kurt was willing to call Adelaides bluff. If you were Kurt would you risk the fact the Crows could re-draft him? Could have seen him be more prepared to open up his options on other clubs.

True except the money they would then have to pay him may be better spent on someone else.

I wasnt saying the Crows should then draft him back but make it look like they were willing to. I think if the Crows played a little more hardball right from the start and not show their hand right away Kurt may be thinking by now he better widen his options. If no deal done, dont draft him and let him walk free which is a possibility as it stands now. You cant expect to get a good deal if the other teams holding all the cards.

Valid point - I don't think like a salesman.
The Crows could say they'll redraft him and then not do it in the end.
What they have said since is than he can now take his chances in the draft if Sydney won't make a decent deal.

Deal will be done. Adelaide would be mad too let him go for nothing. My guess is Adelaide are trying to get a 3rd club involved to obtain a player. Maybe Giles.

Tippett would be stupid not to do a money grab at this stage of his career.

If he signed another 2-3 year deal his value could be gone by the end of that, while his stocks are high take the money especially considering his only 1 head knock away from end of career.

I think the concussion thing is a media beat up. Jude Bolton got concussion every 2nd week.

Completely agree, and can't believe how many people treated it as gospel at the time and still do .. Truly believe it wont be an issue for him (maybe until his last or 2nd last season when players go chasing a pay out)

Every doctor I know is careful about risking concussion.
Brain tissue is soft and easily damaged by being sloshed around inside the skull.
Each incident results in a tears in neural tissue and small haemorrhages that cause scarring.
Any scarring that occurs is cumulative and impairment of memory and concentration follows progressively.
There is also the risk of an arterial tear, with major bleeding in the closed space causing pressure damage.

We can usually get away with a few such episodes.
I had 3 significant episodes of concussion in childhood, and adolescence, one of which left me unconscious for a few days.
I was lucky, as my brain seems to be OK functionally, and no damage has been found on CT Scans and EEGs I have had for other reasons since.
Fortunately, my incidents were spaced well apart allowing for healing and recovery between them.

I'd quit the game if I were him...

Look at what happens to boxers sometimes from repeated concussions at a level that don't even cause unconsciousness...

Psyber you are leaving yourself wide open here
Seriously I agree with you but I don't think KT will give it away right now. I think his playing days are numberd but when is another matter.
Wish him well and good luck..... just because someone leaves your club no need to turn on them like a pack of dogs.
