They are screwed. No Gawn for another ten weeks. No Spencer for six or seven. What, Cameron Pederson in the ruck? Meanwhile they are getting suspended, having family members passing away, getting fined by the AFL and the season is five weeks old. You need a lot of luck in football and these blokes aren't getting any. At full strength there is no doubt Melbourne are better than Richmond but these blokes have been cursed this season.

There's something else too. I reckon Goody has a lot to learn as a head coach. I thought he was outcoached by Chris Scott and Damien Hardwick. He's still got his L plates on and it might be another year out for them.

He looked resigned to the fact they were going to lose that on Monday night. Sure, he knew he was limited with personnel but one bit of footage with about 3 minutes to go had him like a rabbit in the headlights. Stunned, not sure what to do.

Yes some things have not gone their way, but there is ways to make it work better with what you have...for example:

Punching people and getting weeks is not bad luck...
Slacking off the ball (Viney, Hogan to name a couple) is not bad luck...

Absolutely MW. Melbourne have been down for so long that they have to relearn the ways of a winning culture. Both of those things you mentioned are a part of that. They have the ability to make the eight this year, but they might have missed the bus.

I said at the start of the year Melbourne are still Melbourne above the shoulders, below the shoulders they've most certainly improved but they've got a lot of work to do before they handle the expectations now put upon them.

That club bullshits about injuries, take it for what it's worth. Very little.

turned out to be worth it this time with Talia just about cleared to play this week, although I still suspect he may miss.

I also think Walker is gradually developing into a better bet for FF than Tippett.

Just celebrating my insights from 2013...
I couldn't find the later post where when Dangerfield was conjectured to be leaving the Crows soon that I said Sloane was the one I'd most want to keep.

Unbeatable now!

I've just heard it on 3 different channels.

Playing great footy yes, flag favourites yes, (Which I thought 3 weeks ago) But it's round 6 with plenty to go. Anything could happen.

A very good 76 point win but, Adelaide were $1.16 or something like that wouldn't a $1.16 favourite win by 76?

Unbeatable hardly.

In some fairness most of the people saying unbeatable are in Melbourne and they were the ones that kick started the topic last week. Ive heard it twice tonight on fox footy and on the couch is just starting.

Not sure this early - I really hope they bring Pruess back though.
