I like Rory Sloane but if St Kilda are seriously offering the guy $1.2 million a year well good luck with that.

Rucci thinks if Dangerfield leaves Sloane will too.

Wow.

My gut feeling is Sloane stays no matter what but is only holding out because he knows he can get a much better deal if danger goes. I reckon they should try and negotiate with a clause that they redo his pay if danger leaves.

From here we should make finals though. I would be very disappointed if we don't.

Having said that I'm not confident of progressing at all in the finals.

You have been looking alright, whilst I don't think you are a chance for the flag, you never know. I think you could progress further based on what I have seen.

Probably pretty similar to the coasters. Decent early draw, pretty deep midfield, potent forward line, suspect defence, likely to play finals but not do too much damage.

Didnt your CEO say they wouldnt pay over odds?
If the Saints are offering $1.2m id imagine that would be $400k atleast more than he could get in Adelaide. Anyone would have to seriously consider that

You would, but with the saints, well I know they have improved a lot but they still have some decent pain ahead, The crows are in a much better position I would have thought. Then again if you through in the added bonus of getting out of Adelaide then he may go.

With careers not lasting forever if you were guaranteed $400k more a year over 4-5 years I reckon most people would jump at the chance. Saints may not be around the mark but I honestly cant see the Crows winning one within the next 4-5 years either

Personally I think Sloane won't go anywhere. I wouldn't have an issue if Dangerfield left and it resulted in getting the services of Aish and let's say Charlie Dixon with the residual coin. It would be a bonus to get a high draft pick as compo for Dangerfield too.

Think you'll find Aish wants to play for a Melbourne side. Why would Charlie Dixon want to play for the Crows?

Maybe you could get advice from Trigg on how to put a clause in a contract....

The only thing that will motivate Sloane to leave is Money. His go home factor has been negated by his father's job transferring him to Adelaide.

The decision is chase cash and limit success or do you forgo a bit of cash to be successful?

Wouldn't be a smart move if they both have the same manager..........

Especially when he is likely to be in the top few paid at the crows anyway.

That's a good point. Would be a pretty big conflict of interest if indeed that was the case.

The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

How much do you honestly believe he will get in Adelaide Benny?
The Crows have always been known as a club who doesnt pay ridiculous ammounts and being very smart with their money, if he was to get say $800k which would reportedly put him level with Tex that what still leave him $400k a year short of the Saints supposed figure. If there was only $100k in it you would stay in Adelaide definately but that kind of money would make it hard to say no

I would be happy to pay him 800 or so to put him level with the top paid at the club. I think he is 100% worth that. 1.2 is pretty crazy money and I don't think the crows will pay it.

Having said that, we would have a bit of cap room still left over from the whole Tippett debacle that had been earmarked for keeping tex danger and Sloane so if they fork out a bit extra in the short term to keep him here I would be happy with that.
