We recruited for this flag.
All season our 2nd tier players have been far too inconsistent.
Chris Scott is a stubborn ****, who refuses to believe that plan A doesn't work.

I reckon your first pick in the draft is number 34. Your first round pick ended up at GWS via Carlton when you recruited Henderson.

All this negativity about a team that made a prelim, how shite are the other 14 teams?

Brenton Sanderson 'coached' a team to a prelim and he couldn't coach either ;)

Strange to see Dangerfield so gutted. I would have thought he'd have grown accustomed to playing a lone hand in gut wrenching finals losses.

In fairness Selwood did set a record for contested possessions in a final (26) which against the Sydney midfield is a pretty amazing effort IMHO. Danger a lone hand? I think not. Dual hand, yes. And gut wrenching is when youn lose the close ones, smackings when the game is over in the first 10 mins are much easier to take.

Motlop - Trade bait?

Bartel, Mackie and Enright all done? Bit of pain coming if these 3 all go at once, big chunk of experience across the back half going all at once might hurt a bit.

Pretty sure Bartel has a decent $ contract for next year still

Plenty of media commentary about him "triggering" another year, perhaps had to play 18 or something this year. Will he want to go on though?

Um, Selwood had a fair game. But as long as we are so reliant on two, so are we.

If the rumoured $500k for next year is even close then of course he will go on

Nathan Vardy to Port?

Such a disappointment this player. Either hurt or underwhelming, teasing you all the while with glimpses of potential. I think he's a certainty to not be at Cat Park next year but I haven't heard anything about a Port move.

Finishing 3rd with a 1-1 record in the finals after securing two home finals....questions need to be asked.

After finishing outside the eight, they were handed a soft draw. Also:

Recruited the brownlow medallist in Danger
Recruited a stopper in S Selwood
Recruited a key back/forward in Henderson
Recruited a no.1 ruck in Smith

This should equate to a GF berth minimum.

Nothing like opening an elevator door and tossing in a hand grenade just as it's about to close. :D

Little bit North Melbourne like, recruited for this year and probably next, need to deliver one next year or it might get tough.

Mackie, Enright and Bartel would all be uncertain for next year and certain not to go the year after, Taylor will turn 31 next year, Lonergan 33 next year, Hawkins 30 the year after.

Interesting, like North, to see who replaces all these in the next 2 years.
