I agree 100% that's why I'm interested to hear Saints fans opinions of him, who watch him that little bit closer than the rest of us.

Each to their own, but I reckon that's around the mark. If he was part of a gun midfield group might take his level a little higher maybe? Nothing special about his kick, think his strongest attributes are positioning, read of play and particularly workrate.

I'll be blunt, he wouldn't be winning BnF's at any other club, not hard to stand out at St Kilda.

He has been the standout player of the past 5 years at the club but yes he is an honest hard worker and gives his all for the club, id say his pace out of a stoppage is one of his best attributes but we isnt to the quality of Robert Harvey.

Agreed. Surround him with a couple of blokes who’ll share the workload & provide a bit of protection for him and he could take the next step and be a great player.

Too be fair not many were as good as Robert Harvey.
The bloke was an out and out champion!

Steven's been a very consistent contributor. Doesn't play too many poor games. The knock on him tends to be his disposal, but that seems to have improved on recent years.

Not in the "all time great" bracket as per a few of the other names mentioned (Harvs, Riewoldt) but a very good footballer for us. Obviously his B+Fs wins need to be assessed in the context of St K being ordinary during most of his career. In fact he's only played in one final, back in 2011.

I've been ambivalent about some of our 'bigger name' players moving on in past seasons, but would hate to see Jack running around in the colours of another club.

Let's assume Walsh, Lukosius and Rankine are gone, do you go Rozee with pace and outside run or one of the King boys to get a KPP?

Hopefully Jack Bytel will be the steal of the draft in his underage year was the next best midfielder behind Walsh. Hopefully we can get his back right and get him on the track.

The 3 mature age blokes we picked up all look to have alot of speed about them which we have lacked for some time.

Dylan Robertson to miss all of 2019 according to SEN. Massive blow for the Saints and under-fire Richo.

No Carlisle and Roberton in defence is a huge loss for saints.

Gold Coast @ $3.95 for round 1 btw

St Kilda defender Dylan Roberton will sit out the 2019 season due to a heart condition.

A review of data from an internal device in Roberton’s chest showed a period of irregularity before it activated at the conclusion of Sunday’s JLT clash in Ballarat.

The cause of the irregularity is still unknown, with Roberton keen to explore all medical options.

The 27-year-old’s heart issue was first discovered during St Kilda’s Round 4 clash against Geelong in 2018, which forced him to miss the remainder of the season.

After extensive testing from cardiologists and a procedure to implant an internal monitor, Roberton was given the all clear to return to training.

The defender then completed a full pre-season, and after regular check-ups with cardiologists, was permitted to play with continued monitoring.

“It’s extremely frustrating because I physically feel fine, and if you exclude those two incidents, I’m as healthy as I’ve ever been,” Roberton said.

“Unfortunately, I need to listen to the professionals and take some more time out of the game.

“I still have a great desire to play at the highest level and want to make sure we look at every possibility.

“Given the club’s ability to add a player to the list, I wanted to make the call while they still had time to do so.”

St Kilda are going well if they pickup an old delisted Carlton player.
Sam Rowe has a big heart but he was an average player at best in his peak.
