Pick 9, a future first, a second rounder this year or next and Henry Hustwaite.

Which becomes pick 12 to 14, depending on academy rorts, a pick in the high teens or early 20's next year, a pick in the 30's or 40's this year (in a crap draft) and some spud

Pass.

You want everyone gone.
Not everyone but m sick of the club taking half arsed approaches and we need to cop our medicine and draft hard.
Merrett has been a fantastic player but the simple fact is we go through this circus every year with him. This will be the 5th or 6th year in a row where he has spoken to other clubs and he will definitely be gone in 2 years for nothing so may aswell cash in now and get something for him. If he can get 3 in the top 10 this year and although being a supposed weak draft there is still enough talent there that is better than what we’ve got. There are several SA lads who would be more than happy to play in Melbourne and I’d be looking at drafting a few of them together. We would have 3 top 10’s this year plus an end of first so 4 picks in the top 25 plus Fiorini (who I’m not keen on) plus another pick in the 20’s as well as our two academy kids who are both predicted to be top 30-40. That’s a good start, throw in two firsts next year plus another couple of academy and father sons depending on AFL ruling and that should hopefully net us something decent ahead of the Tassie bid. I’m actually quite bullish about this years draft from the games I’ve attended and those involved I’ve spoken to

Gold Coast's Brayden Fiorini has been traded to Essendon for a 2026 third-round pick.

Best part is you didn't like him before he got traded to you.
