Cant you play Dixon at FF and Westhoff CHF, and smaller forwards around them?

Might see either Boak or Impey spend time forward to cover the loss of Wingard.

I do like the look of Riley Bonner, very good left foot who can set up across half back.

Howard needs to play if Schulz is ruled out.

In: Amon, Mitchell and Byrne-Jones
Out: Wingard, Toumpas, Impey

Bonner getting close from what I have read, Boon. 20 touches on the weekend for the magpies- if he puts together a few more of those then he will be hard to ignore for some run off the wing.

Surely Toumpas has to be the first one named in the outs? I'd rather have Russell Ebert at 66 than him. [-o<

It's more so to cover Westhoff's full ground work, whilst also providing Lobbe with a chop out in the ruck.

From what I have heard- he performed admirably last week, so I would like to see that rewarded with another game.

Probably right, Trengove will need to go with Daniher ( none of the other defenders have the height ) so he won't be able to go into the middle when needed so Howard probably stays in then. Might mean Carlile goes out too, Daniher the only forward with any height for them so Carlile might be back to Alberton on Saturday.

Out - Wingard, Toumpas
In - Amon, Mitchell

Lots of pressure on Polec and Dixon this week, need a big lift from Broadbent and Neade, must get Ah Chee into the game too.

Not me , I don't think we are close to being premiers, I just remember some Port supporters not long ago saying how poor Mitchell is.

Young showed last week he can kick a few goals up forward, hopefully he can get some consistency in his game.

Daniher looks like he's going to be gun if he can fix his kicking. He will be a big threat. Trick is to make get his marks further up the ground.

Not trying to be a smart ar5e here

But two rounds in, Port has a smell of an annus horribilus in 2016

With injuries, drug suspensions and lack of confidence (how else do you explain their woeful kicking efficiency) Port could finish April one and four and it is hard to make the finals from their now in an 18 team comp.

Lucky May is relatively easy for them with Melbourne, Carlton, WC (H) and Brisbane so could easily be four and five and relatively back on track by then

A win this week is crucial essendona re coming over with nothing to lose and know if they get through Ports defensive set up, an upset could be brewing as based on how Port are kicking now there's every chance if Essendon get get the ball deep there's every chance to get it back in the midfield.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

PORT ADELAIDE is set to host Essendon on Friday night with the absence of another first-choice player with Ken Hinkley revealing Alipate Carlile will undergo wrist surgery.

It follows the confirmed outs of Chad Wingard (hamstring) earlier in the week, as well as Hamish Hartlett (hamstring) and Jay Schulz (back) who will miss another match.

According to Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess, Carlile will miss 4-6 weeks in rehabilitation.

“Bobby has a non-displaced fractured scaphoid – basically a crack to a bone in his wrist,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“We think he might’ve hurt it against St Kilda as he reported a little soreness after the game, we got it scanned after he reported it hadn’t improved in Round 2.

“He’ll be running within a week, his contact work will take about a month.”

The Power’s senior coach Ken Hinkley said the addition of Carlile to the Power’s injury list has his team “seven or eight players” away from where he’d like his playing stocks to be.

“We’ve got some issues on the injury front,” Hinkley told Melbourne radio RSN.

“We’ve had Hartlett, we’ve had Schulz, we’ve had Wingard and unfortunately we’ve for a fourth now in Carlile.

“So it adds another one to the list and means we’re seven or eight players away from where we’d like to be - hopefully we’ll get them back really quick.

“There’s a little bit missing in our team, but it gives opportunity for good young players to come in and play well.”
