Slight chance of Hinge maybe, not Pfieffer.

Both should still be on the list.

Doughty and Jericho should be off.

Where does Martin Kahl, and his time at Norwood AFTER Glenelg flicked him, fit into a discussion of worst players at your club?

OK you guys, you asked for it....(OK, these are former players rather than current players but running with the theme..well, a little bit)

Steven Handley..got a gig for years. Would play a half decent game in late August, get picked in a final then break down as soon as we relied on the giant marshmellow!

Brett Spinks....the original inanimate carbon rod!

Brett Grgic...played well against Geelong twice, we recruited him so he was stuffed and never played a decent game in the hoops.

Sean Simpson....the first Simpson to be classified as an underachiever! This was the sort of defender that made the Ablett, Stoneham, Brownless foward line a non winning combination (OK, Geoff Miles helped as well).

David Spriggs....could run, couldn't play.

Paul Chambers...another dud we shipped off to Sydney.

David Clarke...makes Gallagher look like a champion.

David Haynes..no vision whatsoever. Needed a seeing eye dog out there.

Matthew McCarthy....couldn't mark, couldn't kick. Useless as tits on a bull.

Matthew Baldwin...see above but even worse. At least McCarthy could kick goals against Carlton.

Matthew Spencer...finally been shown the door. We were so bad last year he got a game.

THE HORROR. THE HORROR.

Spriggs was such a good runner that he got another shot with the Swans! However he was eventually dumped by them too. I actually thought he showed something during his early days with the Cats but the knee injury seemed to just ruin his career.

David Clarke is a shocker! Worst foot skills I’ve ever seen. Don’t know what South saw in him.

Yep, you've got a good recall there on Spriggsy. In the early years of this decade the Cats badly needed a runner and in 2001 David Spriggs had his only good season of football and really looked the goods there. Then he got hurt and wasn't the same since. I think he's running around in the VFL these days?? Cue spellcheck for yet another 'rebistoolazytoresearch' moment.

His one contribution to the Cats was that he was part of the trade with Bizzell going out, that got James Kelly to the club.

Ah sweet, no drama's ... Thinking about Welsh at somewhere like the Bulldogs, I would have thought his track record in recent seasons at Telstra Dome was pretty good, so could have even greater output with them?

Still don't think he'll be the difference between a contender and flag for them, nor he would have been with the current Adelaide list, so perhaps a good situation for all

could be some real pain next year Crow fans IMO....

It was am ageing list, it will be one of the youngest now with only goodwin, mcleod, edwards and bassett around 30. and as for the comment about crows having a supporters having pain next year this time last year every one said that about the roos Dutchy. and they were 2 wins from a premiership

They bend over backwards to keep a bloke who was happy to leave, mind you,he didnt get picked for the second half of the year when the forward half was struggling (McGregor)and Roo was getting picked on reputation. Then they let their most productive forward of the last 4 or 5 years go without much of a fight.
John Reid,it's time to go. Im lovin' this...

Booney, I know Portites always look for an opportunity to pick at the Crows as they know it will be a while before the Power get a second premiership, let alone back to back ones, but your grounds are a little thin. I agree with you about Roo, but the only reason McGregor is there is because no decent offers came up, and perhaps if he got serious he may be useful as a back up. Welsh was only productive when the midfield won hands down and gave it to him lace out - a bit like Modra in his later years and Scott what-his-name the Crows tried for a while from your mob - OK in front of a strong team at SANFL level, but....

I agree the Crows have tended to hang on to fading stars for too long, but will Tredders be the focal point for the Power again next year??? 8)

1: My grounds on debating the fact Adelaide let Welsh go Scott free ( ) is far from thin.
2: You say McGregor was kept as there was "no decent offer came up",LMAO,what is it exactly you are getting for Welsh? Oh thats right, you got a 17 year old wingnut who played in the Broken Hill GF,kicked a bag.Good work.
3: WTF has us having one flag to your two have to do with this argument? 0
4: The reason you bring this up is perhaps the state of your list makes you think our next flag is much closer than yours. NEWSFLASH- The rest of the fotball following world already knows that!
5: Tredders will not be our focal point in attack next year,no doubt, but if your third best forward is as good as Tredrea has been,is, or may return to be I would like to know where you are hiding him.

All points well made booney, but the Crows 1st forward would struggle to meet your conditions in point 5. Nevermind the 3rd.

Wise words. I can't and won't speak for the Crows, but it certainly sums up the Cats.
Cats had four cracks from 89-95, aside from a few other very good years we didn't even make the GF, and went 0-4.

We then weren't seriously in contention at all from 98-03.

Now, we've been back in contention since 05 (lost the heartbreaker), completely buggered 06 ourselves and won 07.
We've got 1-3 years hopefully to win a second before a group of guys at the top end of our list retire and fade.

It's just how it is.

On Gallman

I recently watched the SANFL GF for the first time and I definitely liked what I seen in Gallman....

In Adelaide last weekend, I spoke to couple of current SANFL players and Officials, all rated Gallman very highly.

One player in particular who played in the SANFL Premiership side said Gallman was ready to play AFL next season, this player went further by saying his courage for an 18 year old is second to none.......

By all reports, he is also quite an athlete and good natural fitness and running capability
