That is the best that the Cats have played since the 2011 Granny. We are now genuinely quick and finally the next generation is starting to arrive. Geelong's best last night included Selwood, Hunt, Motlop and Horlin-Smith. No elder statesmen in that lot.

Having said that Sydney are still a force and will get better. The loss of LRT and the poor choice of Morton as a sub (and the umps were more than kind to us) distorted their structure and robbed them of run. How good has Pyke become surely the most improved player in the league and Hannebery is fast emerging as Sydney's own Selwood.

A great game and a great result.

REB

McPharlin a late out for Freo, failed a concussion test today
Tanner Smith to debut, Buddy should have a field day

For any Collingwood fans out there, Foxtel are running a special call today.
On FS3 will be the normal coverage but FS Plus has a Collingwood only commentary with Eddie, will be interesting to see how it goes

Zemplas and Hamish McLachlan doing the Hawks/Freo game. I reckon they would both enjoy the sound of their own voice.

Good assessment REB. Mumford has to be carrying an injury doesn't he? Harry Taylor was good for you also.
