Silvagni took a classic grab around 1990, I reckon it may have been against Collingwood.

1988 over Starcevich? Great grab!
Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.
You don't need no golden cross to tell you wrong from right,
The world's worst murderers were those who saw the light.

Speaking of Silvagni - I'm sure to be howled down - I've never understood his inclusion in the Team of the Century.
Good. But the best last line defender of all time?
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

I tend agree - not many players from 80's/90's were included in the side, but Silvagni was.

He was a great player, but the best full back of all time, I'm not so sure.

3x leading goal kicker and 444 goals in 279 games, i'm sure there are plenty with much better records than that

Jezza was a superstar
He would have kicked more goals , but played a fair bit of football up the ground
He deserves to be in the team of the century
Perhaps the most unbelievably skilled player in his era

I never saw John Coleman play , but he must have been good to get a gig in front of Peter Hudson and Tony Lockett
I never saw Dick Reynolds play, but he must have been good to get a gig in front of Daryl Baldock and Gary Ablett senior

Of the ORIGINAL team of the Century players I have seen I would rate them in this order [from about 1970-2000]
1 Leigh Matthews
2 Alex Jezzzzzzzzzalenko
3 Ian Stewart
4 Bob Skilton
5 Royce Hart
6 Keith Greig
9 John Nicholls
10 Bruce Doull
11 Stephen Silvagni
12 Francis Bourke
