Yeah Richmond ‘Fell away’ nothing to do with Carlton playing well hey?
I’ll say again, where is this Richmond big improvement? Based on what?
I would say it's come from last year being so hit with injuries. We had that many first 18 players miss huge chunks of time last year most people thought with a full squad back together they could rise for one last challenge.
I think if everything went 100% right we could give the flag one last shake this year and I'm glad they have gone all in. My main concern is our mids, just can't see it sticking up against the top younger teams like Melb, WB etc for pace which showed last night. Prestia is out best mid but his body keeps letting him down, we were on top last night till he went down. Dusty needs to apply some defenisve pressure at times too.
If we get to the middle of the year & finals look a while off, we will fall away quickly again like last year & some retirements of our stars may begin with Cotch & perhaps Jack.
I also think the new stand rule on the mark bought in last year hasn't suited us & allowed teams to get the ball in quicker before our defence sets up, like it did from 2017-2020 .
Hoping the lads can give it that one last shake.
