Most defenders do! [emoji38]

We don't have many like him on the list. Williams is even slower and not AFL fit, Sinn is more or the high half back / wingman and Bergman and Evans fill the third/fourth tall out of their division and Houston and Farrell and the high half back ball users.

So you think he's in Port's best 22 that would potentially include Houston, Farrell, Evans and Bergman?

Interested to hear your thoughts on how we will go through september given Houston and Farrell are our distributors.

The impact will be significant.

Burton was solid on the weekend and is fully fit for the first time this year giving us a capable replacement for one of them. He has the ability by foot to replace one of them in an attacking sense, as does Bergman who might get a bit higher up the ground running from defence.

The other is more of an issue. Do we move Byrne-Jones back knowing he was an AA at half back but what impact does that have on the front half mix? I don't think we can trust McEntee as we DBJ. Found it odd that F Evans was sub behind McEntee on the weekend, perhaps that was more giving McEntee a chance to prove himself as I felt Frank was well ahead of him.

For mine Burton is a lock to replace one, as he did in the weekend, we may bring Sinn in to replace the other if DBJ doesn't go back.

I do, yes. Given we have changed the balance with Aliir and Zerk-Thatcher the only talls and the likes of Bergman and Evans running as the "third" tall with a defence first / attack second function we need a small/mid whose primary role is to defend. We've got lots of mid/talls who run off and attack, we need someone with the fortitude to play a negating role and that's him at the moment.

Will probably get my Mum and Step Dad one. They did have a paver in front of the Allan Scott HQ but they were lost in the recent redevelopment.

They don't offer you compensation or a transfer of the paver that had been purchased? Bit rough considering they happily took the money in the first place.

It was an oversight when they redeveloped, spoke to Richo who said they'd be replacing them when the bowling club side gets redeveloped and will ask people who had lost theirs to contact the club to have new ones installed at no charge.

Interestingly Jeremy Finlayson signs a 1 year deal, I thought he might have been unlikely to get a new deal but the talk around Soldo might be real enough for Finlayson to be a 1 year insurance policy.

Do Port people rate Lachie Jones. Not sure what he brings or role he has made his own. Every time i watch he seems fumbly and doesnt really impact games

Yes, at times he can be fumbly ( certainly was early in the year ) but he has pace to burn and is playing the lock down role well. If he didn't play his role nobody would be talking about Houston and Farrell in the light they do, Jones' work allows them to do what they do.

You still rate him?

Do feel for him though. The couple of times tonight he's gotten separation from his direct opponent & they've kicked it straight over his head to his opponent

Gary Ablett Snr wouldn’t have got a kick tonight with Ports forward entries.
