GWS obviously looking at turning 3 into something. I dont think they would waste time with later round picks. They have so many first rounders!

So they upgrade their first rounder for a guy that hasnt played for 18 months and offloaded some unwanted picks...

I guess from their view they'd be happy with it...

Fremantle win there I reckon. They nearly gave up two first rounders for him 12 months ago, now they get him AND a 1st rounder and some.

Both sides win IMO.

GWS has to trim their list this year so don't need picks.
They are looking to get pick 1 and secure McGrath so they will speak to us again and see if we are interested. Will depend on if they can grab pick 5 off Carlton

I dunno, would Cam McCarthy even be getting a game in the GWS side at the moment? Cameron, Lobb, Patton would all still be ahead of him.

Seems like a win/win to me

Do GWS have any talent in their academy they will need to bid on?

I have heard this, yes - cant remember the name though. Essendon were thinking about using pick 1 on him. So maybe these other picks will get them enough points?

I agree with Jonothan Brown here. As a trade-off to free agency, players should have no say in where they play football before they become a free agent. Would mean clubs can get the proper value for players.

Someone like omeara, mitchell, prestia etc should not be able to name a club. As long as their contractual demands are met, highest bidder imo

No, we are looking at bidding on Bowes who is a Suns academy player and rated a top 5.

The Giants will have to prepare to either select or match bids for Will Setterfield and Harry Perryman, who are both first round, probable top 10 picks.

Setterfield borderline top 10, Perryman closer to 20 by all reports. Can't see either being bid for before pick 8-10 so they should have plenty of points to play with

So that's pick 9?
I'd be suprised if they were bid on much higher unless clubs wanted to be pricks as I don't think they are worth it especially Perryman

Pick 10 at this point I believe.

Yeah Setterfield the better of the 2, but I'd take Perryman if he was there at 10. A great compliment to Wines, IMO.

Have been saying this to mates for ages. Players have far too much say/power in the industry today

I agree. My mates and I laugh that if you nominate your club at 17 years of age its draft tampering but after that you can do whatever you want.

I saw glimpses of what Cameron is capable of but he isnt the panacea we are after. We do need a half forward who is capable of breaking a line though but I doubt Adelaide will give him up easily.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cameron at the Blues next year.
We need a bit more besides, but that's a good start.
