Port Adelaide 2016

Talk on the national game

I think you're right Carey regarding the issues. The problem Ken has that if he drops names now it's just too late. I've had an opinion and some stirring to some mates who deserve it regarding Port but in seriousness it's no good dropping blokes now, he needs to be consistent from the start and last year Port were terrible for the majority of the time when the whips were cracking. Now this year it's becoming a real big issue. Dropping blokes won't fix the issue after standing by them for too long.

I love his principles as a coach, but it looks very much like he's on the slow conveyer belt out the door...

Lobbe is cooked, may aswell give Muggsy Bouges a crack in the ruck. Unsure why we dropped Dougal Howard, at least he has a crack!!!!

Like Carey said I can handle losing but I cant handle a lack of effort, yesterday was the worse performance I have ever seen from any side probably at any level let alone **** an AFL side.

Michael Voss is cancerous, he coached Brisbane when they were turd, any improvement in his time there and the job would have been his for as long as he liked but no they went backwards. Ken needs a couple tactical masterminds behind him... He is struggling without Walsh and Richardson. Ken is a motivator not a tactician!!!!

That's the exact point a bloke at work makes, Kenny has Walsh, Bailey and Richardson behind the scenes.

Definately something going on behind the scenes, maybe the Cornes rumours are true?
Bassett would be causing a bit of division too id imagine.
Hartlett, Dixon, Lobbe and Toumpas all need to be dropped

Carey, what are the chances that Hinkley will swing the axe like you suggested? Surely he has to send a message. GWS aren't crap by any measure, but pound for pound Port are the better side and would've pencilled Sunday arvo in as a win, particularly being played on essentially neutral turf.

Kenny has been very loyal to this playing group backing them in but after a performance like that enough is enough they have let him down to many times, He simply must swing it at the end of the day a coach is judged by the win/lose column everything else is irrelevant so pressure will be on himself soon enough with out question.

GWS are a pretty handy outfit, I tipped GWS by 12 points in our tipping competition as I said losing is one thing but to put in a show like that is absolutely disgraceful and disgrace to the jumper.

Sometime the playing group in its entirety needs to be put on notice, and swinging the axe might be the only way to do it. You might lose again next week, but the longer-term team benefits might outweigh it.

AFL footy (I imagine) is a professional and quite predictable environment, with a regular schedule recovery and training sessions and video tape watching etc. I'd guess some players might get quite comfortable, particularly those who know they are ensconced in the regular 22. A bit like a comfortable job, you can kinda get a bit too complacent if there's nothing breathing down your neck whilst still 'putting in the effort' when the boss/coach is watching during the week.

Righto, back to the Cornes rumour at hand.

There was a rumour about a month ago that Chad has created a division amongst the playing group after being overheard bagging out Wingard to a Port official. Was talk Cornes and Bassett don't see eye to eye either

This would not surprise me. Cornes is bit of a knob no doubt there and Whilst I feel Bassett is a good coaching asset hes also bit of a knob.

No sign of Booney so far today. What chance he is down at Alberton "eye-balling" a few blokes.... He was livid yesterday.

2012 Primus sacked......

GWS 16.11 107
Port 10.13 73

2016....

GWS 22.19 151
Port 9.11 65

The full circle has obviously occurred. the boys got close to some grand finals, the unit put in place 4 years ago didnt win a flag but it hit great heights

Trengrove is the one who has to go - watch his decision making.... "yes i dont have to run now i might just walk over here for a bit whoohoo!"

Lobbe yep swap for Howard at least youll see endeavour in there

Hartlett is only first game back, and as if youd drop dixon, he is new to an already crumbling structure

Even westoff would be a good kick in the ass to see his stupid beard back at centrals until earns a spot in the side

Ports resurgence last year only came when butcher was introduced into the side

Theyre not a group of students anymore heading for glory, theyre just bored senior employees... another day another dollar zzzzz
