The Herald sun and Ch 7 have run with the story and its all based on comments from Ricciuto. Now I have said this a few times on here and it never goes down well, but Riccuito is a ******* idiot. To run a story based on that guys comments is really leaving yourself open. Well played media.

Agree, poor form by both parties. How are MMMs ratings going lately? Do they need a boost perhaps?

Maybe Roo is on the money.
Plenty of media are tonight claiming that Hird is standing down tomorrow.

Apparantly media conference at 10am tomorrow to call it quits.
Story seems to be that if Hird steps down the AFL will go "easy" on the club.
Bomber wont get the job, have a feeling the AFL want him gone aswell.
Think we would turn to another favourite son and get Harvey in

What would be the reasoning for Hird to stand down now?
It doesnt make much sense since he has refused to for 6 months and he has always said he was innocent.

He received his copy of the ASADA report today so maybe after reading it he has seen some bad news in there.
Or maybe as ive heard numerous times the AFL gave the club an ultimatum saying that if Hird goes they will spare the club further punishment. He might have taken one for the club

Mike sheehand says he never said such things.

This whole saga needs some Benny hill music.

Could all be crap though
Hird has his usual media presser at 10am every Thursday so it could all come to nothing

Interesting that Port have been given assurances that Monfries can play finals.
Looking more likely that all players will escape sanctions

Once again, Hird was greeted with the media outside his house this morning asking the same question that has been asked all week, and once again Hird gave them the same answer, I'm not going anywhere.

The AFL simply cant afford for any players to be sanctioned. Take 20 odd players out of Essendon for 2 years and they have no team, no 9 games per week for Foxtel.

The AFL will make sure this doesn't happen, even if it is in a direct contradiction to their laws.

Not in the AFL's hands, sure they'll make exceptions so that Essendon can get a side on the park, mostly likely by playing alot of reserves players I guess if senior players were banned.

So hows that inside word from Ricciuto's source going?

Has Hird stood down yet? I guess he still has until 11.59PM tonight before Riccuito is wrong so it can still happen or Riccuito can go the way of Biglands with his massive call about Walker joining the GWS.

Pretty much the AFl should strip points and look into further sanctions. You break the cap they come down hard on you and this is much worse.
