Who Won, Who Lost

Since the AFL board has recently turned into a Ben Cousins board, i think it may be time to get back to footy.
It has been 2 weeks since trade week, Who has improved their list and who lost out during trade week?
Adelaide- Gained- Brad Moran, B. Symes, Pick 28, 30 and 38.
Lost- Marty Mattner, John Meesen, Ben Hudson and Pick 43.
Rating- We have discussed this a lot on this board so will look at other clubs in more detail but i think Adelaide clearly lost out of this week, Picked up an ordinary Moran IMO. Symes will be a decent pick up i reckon and will play senior football next year. Pick 28, 30 and 38 will be a bit hit and miss in this draft but i would look at someone like Ryley Dunn from Freo with a late pick. They lost 2 players who could have been in their best 22 and have picked up 0 that will slot straight into the said (Exception may be Symes) Lets hope they pick up a good player with one of those picks to make it a decent week.
Brisbane- Gained- Travis Johnstone and Pick 52
Lost- Cameron Wood and Richard Hadley
Rating- They lost a developing ruckman and a player that they have nursed through 2 knee recos. While they are not happy that Hadley walked out on the club he can be covered in the midfield and IMO would have struggled to be in the best 18 next year anyway. Wood wanted out and in the end they got Travis Johnstone for him which is more than adequate compensation. Johnstone will be great for the Lions, He wont get the number 1 tagger with Black, Power and Lappin along side him and i think he will do a fair bit of damage. A pretty good week for the Lions.
Carlton- Gained- Chris Judd, Richard Hadley and pick 46
Lost- Josh Kennedy, Pick 3 and 20 and 52
Rating- The big winners throughout the week, Picked up the best player in the competition IMO for about 1/5 of his market value. Picked up a 24 year old who has had 2 knee recos but is just starting to get his fitness back and will add a bit of grunt and hardness to now a pretty good midfield with Judd and Hadley. Hadley was a steal. Lost a devoloping KPP who may develop into a good player or may not. (Jury is still out IMO) Pick 3 is a good pick but well worth Judd. The other 2 are mid range. Kept pick 1, got Judd and Hadley. They are the big winners from the week.
Collingwood- Gained- Cameron Wood and Pick 96
Lost- Ben Davies and Pick 14
Rating- Said at the start of the week they wanted a ruckman and by the end of the week they had one. While 14 may have been a little over the odds, this was a good move as Wood will be a very good player and should settle straight into the side next year with Fraser. They gave Davies another chance by giving him to the Roos for nothing (Virtually) which was good as he was going to be delisted anyway. Got what they needed so a good week for Collingwood.
Essendon- Did Not Trade
Fremantle- Did Not Trade
Geelong- Gained- Pick 44, 62 and 90
Lost- Henry Playfair, Charlie Gardiner, Tim Callan, Stephen King and Pick 66.
Rating- As most Premiership sides do Geelong have great depth and all these players were expendable. The club did the right thing with Gardiner and King not only for the players but for the club (Salary cap) Callan gets another chance as does Playfair. While the club did not gain anything of value i think they did the right thing and is no worse off as have some great kids in the VFL.
Hawthorn- Did Not Trade
Kangaroos- Gained- Ben Davies, Sam Power and Pick 37
Lost- Brad Moran, Pick 48 and Pick 96
Rating- Picked up a bargain with Power IMO at 48, should do pretty well for the Roos. Gave Davies another chance for nothing which may work but dont expect too much. Lost a KPP that they have been developing albeit one i dont rate at all. Pick 48 and 96 are worthless in this draft. Broke even IMO.
Melbourne- Gained- John Meesen and Pick 14
Lost- Pick 37 and Travis Johnstone
Rating- Got an average pick for TJ and got a developing ruckman to support White in the coming years. Did ok but i am not sure about giving up Johnstone, it may just leave them a little short in the midfield stakes. The arrival of Meesen can only mean bad things for Johnson and Jamar.
Port- Gained- Pick 28
Lost- Brad Symes
Rating- Relatively inactive, Traded Symes for an average pick. Fair trade for both sides. Quiet week just a bit of general house cleaning for Port.
Richmond- Gained- Mitch Morton and Jordan McMahon
Lost- Pick 19 and Pick 35
Rating- I actually think they did quite well this week, Morton is better than pick 35, he is a beautiful kick, good around goals and is super talented, his only problem is his attitude, if he can fix this up he will be a steal for the Tigers. McMahon will be handy as well, a running skillful HB flank to deliver the ball to Richo. He did go backwards this year and needs to prove to people that he is not just talented but hard working as well. I think they would count this week as a winner.
St Kilda- Gained- Stephen King, Charlie Gardiner, Adam Schneider and Dempster
Lost- Pick 26 and 90
Rating- Got 4 players for virtually nothing but are they going to improve the side? Schneider will be better than Milne and will be handy under Roo and Kosi and co, King will improve the ruck depth but Gardiner and Dempster are fringe players at best. They had nothing to lose but i am just not sure if topping up on good/average players was the way to go. Time will tell.
Sydney- Gained- Marty Mattner, Henry Playfair and Pick 26
Lost- Adam Schneider, Dempster, Pick 28 and Pick 44
Rating- Gained Mattner who will be good for Sydney IMO, They will hope Playfair can take that next step and develop into a good forward for them. IMO made a shocking decision when they traded Schneider and Dempster for pick 26. Just was not enough value to do it. Probably lost in the end because of the Schneider trade but time will tell, Playfair is the key IMO.
West Coast- Gained- Josh Kennedy, Pick 3, Pick 20 and Pick 54
Lost- Chris Judd, Mitch Morton, Pick 30, 46 and 62
Rating- Lost the best player in the comp for not much, Traded away a talented but lazy Mitch Morton but still did ok out of it. The club has 4 picks in the top 22 of the draft which is crucial in such a shallow draft. Pick 3 which will be either Cotchin or Masten IMO. Got another developing forward in Jk. They looked they really did well before the Cousins saga which now puts a strain on the midfield group. Need to hope Richmond take Cale Morton because WCE want Cotchin badly especially after the past month.
Western Bulldogs- Gained- Ben Hudson, Tim Callan, Pick 19, Pick 35, Pick 43 and 66
Lost- Jordan McMahon, Sam Power, Pick 22 and 54
Rating- Lost 2 players that have been going backward for 2 years. Both are similar sort of players, outside skillful but percieved as soft. Not to bad a loss. Gained a ruckman which was crucial after Darcy pulling the pin so they did well there. Callan gets another chance, may become their run with man. Got 4 picks as well but none really high enough to snare a gun unless Scott Clayton can pull off a roughie which he has done before.
