An article in todays Sunday Mail about Luke and this being his last oppurtunity this year.
One thing in the article struck me as not making sense was this piece - basically saying that the crows were going to trade him but if they didnt they were still going to give him a one year contract.
If no one else wanted him why did we retain him ???

Maybe he has 1 year left to go on an existing contract?

I joke quite often, but I'm deadly serious when I say he's the worst player in the AFL.

Its odd really, he seemed to show some potential to be a good player in his early matches but has never developed into one. I assume it is a matter of lack of focus and committment.

As all wwe fans know, 2008 will be the year of Y2J (Chris Jericho), as 2008 will also be the premiership year of our Y2J, only at SANFL level!

Clearly the AFC see something in him, yet my concern is the contempt that he showed towards the jumper of the West Adelaide football club. No need to say anything else on the subject re Jericho.

I'd say it has more to do with age and available positions ... Right place at the right time ... I'm sure in an ideal world, the Crows would prefer better than the Luke Jericho of the past 3 years, but they're pretty light on for forward options.

Yes, I think he comes under the heading of "insurance", and will go next year as others develop if he doesn't.

If any club showed interest in Jericho, the Crows would not of hesitated in get'n rid of him.
The problem was for the Crows,no-one wanted him, so their taking a punt & keeping him.

that pre season grand final against the cats a couple of years ago where he missed a couple of easy goals has really shattered his confidence. I thought he started playing ok this year and then they dropped him again. How are you suppose to get your confidence up after they drop you for playing well?

I thought he played quite well in one or two games last year, one in particular, i think it was possibly against Carlton?? where he kicked 3 or 4 goals from across half forward.

He may be useful as a flanker or on a wing, but he is not the answer in a situation like at FF or the forward pocket - he is an opportunist not a player to win in a tight contest. The same was true of Welsh.

Yes i certainly wouldn't be suggesting he play at FF but as a forward flanker he would be a reasonable option when there are injuries to members of the preferred starting 18.

Would need to work on his manning up as a wingman
