Who'd want to be a defender?

The first two rounds of 2008 have shown how the AFL rule makers have reacted to recent seasons of 'flooding' dominance and low scoring encounters by basically removing the ability of a defender to compete with a forward in a marking contest.
No hands in back,no chopping of the arms,no holding..........
I can see it now.Debut a young Tony Lockett in 2008,in 2020 watch him line up for his 2000th goal.
Who'd want to be a defender.......?

Don't like it at all. Hopefully with the continued evolution of the game the pendulum will swing back towards the physical stuff.

Wrong.. the easter bunny is a giver, not a defender. Kinda in the mould of Scott West.
