No fear for interstate teams heading to Footy Park any more,3 games this season and not one win by the Adelaide based teams.

After the Crows being in for 16 years and Port for 10,most clubs would have a good feel for Footy Park by now.It was once the most feared place to have to come and play,not so any more.

If clubs don't fear playing here, then how about Subiaco? The so called 'House of Pain'. Teams have been playing WCE and Freo there for years.

It is a lot easier trip to come to Adelaide then going to Perth - travel time that is .

Footy Park has one of, if now THE, best surface to play on in the country. Even though it's foreign to a visiting team as far as support of surroundings - it's definately easier to "find your feet".

Also - it goes in cycles. You can't expect history to show the Eagles and Dockers winning all games and then tapering off.

People have been playing in Victoria for years - yet some teams win all their games and some lose. THEN, another year it's the opposite.

Admit it is harder to win away from home but the bottom line is that we over emphasize the home ground advantage......

Good sides win away from home, lets be honest all grounds have four post at each end, ten years ago it was a definite factor, Windy Hill, Optus Oval, and other suburbian grounds were tough environments to win at....

Now, Gabba, MCG, Telstra, Subi, SCG are all pretty good venues, while the only real suburbian ground remaining is Skilled stadium.........

The travel factor is also over emphasize, lets compare the travel requirements of top European Soccer clubs compared to those of AFL clubs.........

The Hawks have had far more success in Perth over the past few years than in Adelaide, so I guess it depends on who the club is.

Also depends on the time of year and the weather and circumstances.

No coincidence we had dry days and no wind and
WC and FR both won at footy park this season.

Also PP seem to be too old and too slow at this stage.

AC also had a 6 day rest vrs WC who had a 10 day
rest and lost.

There are umpteen factors that go into a game of footy.

And those are just BEFORE the game. The team list for the day, injuries, who and how they played last week, the time of the year, the weather, the build up, pressure, history, mental factors.

Then the game takes on a form of it's own. The game is almost a third team - it's not just A v B, it's A v B in C... the game is something else. No two games are the same.

The ground, and crowd, are just another factor.
