Matthew Lloyd's hamstring injury requires an operation which will take place on Monday morning and necessitate Lloyd to miss the remainder of the 2006 season.

Devastating blow for the Bombers.
The long season ahead just got a helluva lot longer...

Whilst the Bombers are paying him $700,00 a year i dont think they can win a premiership, hes a great player no doubt, but how do they fit other good players in the salary cap. And hes injured a lot of the time so theyre not getting their $700,000's worth!!

Great post mate
Under the current salary cap gone are the days when you can pay 1 player 700-800k per year, you n4eed your top 6-8 players to be paid within a certain band and the same for your next tier players and so on.
If you pay 1 player 800k per this, this removes any flexiability around list management.
You thought clubs would of learnt from the Kota contract
My opinion is that Adelaide has always managed it's player payments extremely well
